Discovered a huge region of 2nd life devoted the the Gor Universe. Things like that really shouldn't surprise me anymore, but the depth of work and design really struck me. Could they have breathed life into a trashier series? (26 in all, based on assorted john -carter of mars style fantasy with a big mix of female servitude, etc)? Apparently there's a lot of role play that takes pace there, too. I imagine it's quite popular. I suspect that there's a seed of truth that it was written on a dare to write the worst series ever. For the record, I do like the evil praying-mantis priest-kings and the concept of riding around on giant birds.

I forced myself not to watch Katrina stuff, so I've been ignoring the news. Therefore I didn't know that big stuff was going to happen here. Isn't that crazy?? They say water is almost all sold out in Austin.

I use a bittorrent client called "asureus" whech scans sites, looking for keywords I put in.. like lost, Rome, kim possible, etc... sort of like a tivo, only slower to ge tthings to me. (I tend to get broadcast shows about 5-6 hours after they've aired. I snatch 'em while I'm out, watch on the computer, or to a cd playable in my dvd player.

an average hour show (well, 43 minutes after commercials) is about 350 meg, so you can fit just about 2 episodes per CD. :)

I hope so, too. Someone...ahem...is in 100% denial about the inland hurricane, the tornados & flash floods they're warning us of. I'm a grumpy bear this morning. So, I'm taking matters in my own hands to get things & the pets ready, just in case. :P

Ah, so you found Glorious Ar. Never has so much time been spent so that so many assholes could run around such a beautiful build. It's a nice place to look around, but all of the men there are complete and total bitches. They actually perform public executions on banning of (always female) slaves, with banning happening just because a slave spoke wrong.

I really, really hate 99.999% Goreans. The other .001% are just too geeky to really talk to.
