allergy shots went well, just two pokes, one in each arm.

Had difficulties at work yesterday, hopefully today will be better.

Danny liked the first Nac Mac Feegle book, but ran out of steam mid-sequel. Ah well. We're going to see Sky High tomorrow.

Glowing Breast Implants

Eerie Sounds of Saturn's Radio Emissions... I suspected it was a gag, at first. (via [livejournal.com profile] eryx_uk) It sounds like a classic atomic horror movie about the reign of giant earthworms or such.

sed & weez today after work! I'm excited!

Moment of Lyric: (mp3)

Now, if man
Had been born with six fingers on each hand,
He'd also have twelve toes,
Or so the theory goes...

Well, with twelve digits, I mean fingers,
He probably would've invented two more digits
When he invented his number system.
Then, if he'd saved the zero for the end,
He could count and multiply by 12's,
Just as easily as you and I do by 10's.

Now, if man
Had been born with six fingers on each hand,
He's probably count: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, dek, el, do.
Dek and el being two entirely new signs meaning 10 and 11 - single digits.
And his 12, do, would've been written: one - zero.
Get it?
That'd be swell, to multiply by 12.

Hey, Little Twelvetoes, I hope you're well.
Must be some far-flung planet where you dwell.
If we were together you could be my cousin.
Down here we call 'em "a dozen."
Hey, Little Twelvetoes, please come back home...

Now, if man
Had been born with six fingers on each hand,
His children would have 'em too,
And when they played hide-and-go-seek, they'd count by sixes, fast.
And when they studied piano, they'd do their six-finger exercises,
And when they went to school,
They'd learn the Golden Rule,[p
And how to multiply by 12 easily:
Just put down the zero.
But me - I have to learn it the hard way.
Let me see now...

1 x 12 is 12, 2 x 12 is 24, 3 x 12 is 36, 4 x 12 is 48, 5 x 12 is 60,
6 x 12 is 72, 7 x 12 is 84, 8 x 12 is 96, 9 x 12 is 108, 10 x 12 is 120,
11 x 12 is 132, and 12 x 12 is 144.
Wow!

Hey Little Twelvetoes, I hope you're thrivin',
Some of us ten-toed folks are still survivin'.
If you help me with my 12's,
I'll help you with your 10's,
And we could all be friends.
Little Twelvetoes, please come back home.

Homebrew model Star Wars ships that ACTUALLY FLY

I remember when I'd visit the airstrip at john prince park, some guy had a Snoopy on his doghouse (midway down the page) go against the red baron.

All your linkages are messed up. :0)

Remember we were talking about Melissa Gilbert being head of SAG a couple of weeks ago? Article came out days after, saying she was stepping down. Apparently some differences between M.G. & others there that couldn't be worked out. Just was a speak-of-the-devil thing!

& have you seen this?:
Congress to add 2 months to Daylight Savings Time
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-daylight20.html {I had to reload the page, and press the back/forward button a few times before it came up properly for me}

They mention some child safety people are against it...so thought you might be interested. I don't like it, because I purposely don't work anywhere that asks me to come in before daylight, or after daylight.

linkies fixed! thank you!

nifty that MG reappeared after discovering it!

Icky on the dst... I'd rather do like you said... work during daylight hours only, if I'm in the city.

I'm thinking about writing a letter to the pres. Dangit, I wish people would do something about the daily crimes in the U.S, violent and non-violent. If peeps haven't had anything happen to them, I wouldn't doubt they would think writing him would be silly. After numerous things happening...I'm *not* amused about crime, & don't like being in denial about it like so many are.

I'm a monkey, too! Chinese food restaurants used to have placemats with the zodiac on it. I always wished I could be a cute animal instead. As an adult, I now realize how nifty monkeys are. ;)

Glowing boobies are funny!

Have fun with your buddies tonight, btw.

i agree.. most crimes are of opportunity.. if we take some of the opportunities away without restricting our freedoms... it's a win-win situation!

hooray for cute little monkeys!

I'm just glad I missed being born in the "year of the cock". only by about 3 weeks.

I think chickens and roosters are neat enough, but I didn't want to be one... let alone the teenager-comments that could be made.

I've downloaded both to iTunes!

We want to get all the 'SchoolHouse' and other good cartoons from our youth, to counteract the 'elmo' crap that's available now.

And I guess we are losing Public Television anyway....
