Wonderful time with Magda last night. My last time with her tomorrow night, (Until Late October / Early November, now. Then she'll be in town for a month, then gone for Christmas and back again in January-February)
Not much to update, because I spent most of my time with her and the Newtie-berry. A fine time was had by all.
Yummy dinner was fettuccine Alfredo which Newton was very interested in, until the fresh black pepper was added.
Newt wasn't jealous of MP at all.
No word from Bro since Friday. I wish he'd check in.
Back from the chrono-lift. The only differences I see so far is that Mickey Mouse has four digits on each hand instead of five and my currency now has pictures of statesmen on it, rather than plant life. Oddly enough, now the bills are all green instead of the rainbow of shades before. I never understood why hemp was on the ten-cent piece *and* the five dollar bill, anyhow.
Moment of Lyric:
So I turn to you and I say,
Thank goodness for the Good Souls that make life better,
So I turn to you and I say,
If it wasn't for the Good Souls, life would not matter.
I like waffles... and pancakes...and French toast.
Passed around, but worth continuing - Zombies attack SCA event. More funny to me is that they hit McDonald's afterwards.
Something I learned via a random comment on my crab picture. -
Not to be picky but crabs have eight legs, not counting the claws. You could even argue that the mouth parts are modified legs. Insects, like ants and beetles, have six legs. Crabs are crustaceans and they may have any number of legs and are not limited to eight as far as I know.
Thanks, sandrino!
Another autostitch test - a bus in motion, multiple light sources, and jagged jerky movement, background moving.
It did pretty good job, all told, except for a little fubar on the right. BCT route 20 in fort Lauderdale, 7pm 7/11/05

Date: 2005-07-12 12:57 pm (UTC)I'm picking up a lot of Spanish, and her English has improved quite a bit. You're right, she's got a lovely accent.
I miss the old days of Lj a bit... I could spend time and really go off on topics that I just touch on, now. my attention is so full of work and etc now, I don't have the time to do much writing or as much observation.
Thank you for the compliment! I figure you to be a very knowledgeable person, too! :D

Date: 2005-07-12 01:13 pm (UTC)i miss the old days of lj, too. i remember people being much more open & less apt to be mouthy. something i can't quite my finger on about the old days...more feelings were shared maybe...rather than surface descriptions about things? Not sure exactly. i just remember getting clearer images in my head about other's surroundings & the things they did, but i don't get that as much nowdays.
i've only become less open in my own over time...so i place myself in that, too! ;) :P

Date: 2005-07-12 01:17 pm (UTC)I suspect that you're right about Lj... there was more respect, or at least the lippy-folks didn't hang out too close to my fire. Things did seem a bit deeper back then, but maybe that was because the community was still small, and folks couldn't afford to be meanies for an extended period.
I know that my LJ time is a lot more limited these days, and I feel that my journal sometimes suffers for it... I certainly can't jibber-jabber with as many people as I used to.
I don't think I've become less open, but I do think that I've become less detailed.
We need more free time to blab!

Date: 2005-07-12 01:37 pm (UTC)i seem to remember more people our age (despite it being young brad & friends who started the place up), and the masses of young peeps didn't start until 2002 or so. i could be way off. just harder to find people my age because of growth, i guess.
i feel guilty often about not updating my journal...then feel bothered that i even feel guilty about it. it's a weird reoccurring thing for some reason. ;)
...p.s. sorry for the no caps - i'm being lazy about caps for hand-saving purposes. :0)

Date: 2005-07-12 01:46 pm (UTC)I remember being surprised at all the youngsters here, but I've been fairly insulated from them, for the most part. I've noticed a lot of so-called adults pitching fits and being mean-spirited to others, mostly. The kidlets seem to talk in thier crazy moon-man OMG l33T AOL <3 and such, but don't seem to be as harsh, when I trip over them.
I hope your hands are hanging in there!
p.s. - I've taken to saying "hickory-dickory" as an epithet, when referring to dumb people being meanies.

Date: 2005-07-12 02:45 pm (UTC)i sometimes wish i had an lj at that young age..i want to know what kind of silly stuff i would have written back then! maybe 10 years from now i'll remember to go back to just sample what they had to say in 2000..and see how much they've changed.
aww thanks. :)) should not have mentioned it...just didn't want to seem rude with small caps!
"hickory-dickory" is lots sweeter than what i would say!! :D

Date: 2005-07-12 02:52 pm (UTC)I also have been using "Sakes" more often again... saving the swears for when I want to really lay the smack down. :)
I'd love to have my journals from kid-dom. the majority of that stuff was lost in assorted moves and lightening of loads over time.
I have two people that I should've stopped reading a long time ago, but they're like a train wreck. Hard not to look. I do plan on dropping one of them the next major poop they make... not sure why I haven't yet, but it's probably because I've been reading 'em for a while.

Date: 2005-07-12 01:56 pm (UTC)I don't write for other people for the most part, but I'm aware that I'm being watched at times. That's sort of an odd vibe... I count my unique hits, and see what people are reading, and what they're searching for.
Sometimes, I just want to clam up my journal completely, and just share nifty links with the outside world... other times, I want to go back and unlock all my hidden entries for everyone to see.

Date: 2005-07-12 02:52 pm (UTC)they're all gone, but still.
i've gone back and closed off lots of old entries...and thought about closing mine up too at times. haha..my love/hate relationship with lj. ;)

Date: 2005-07-12 02:57 pm (UTC)Do you ever use your secret agent journal for anything anymore, or has that faded into the past, too?
My big thing is respecting other people's privacy... most of my friend's only posts are just so I can rant without too many issues coming back to bite me. Work rants from prior jobs have since been made public, when I remember to (but I never mention the gig by name)
Of the 70 or so journals I read regularly, I'd say maybe 5 would really sadden me if i saw them shut the doors for good. the rest are just sort of like tv shows.
