7455 - Sleepyhead this morn.
Jun. 16th, 2005 06:55 am
fooling with customizing my journal in the S2 style, just so I can support tags. (Example - all entries that I've tagged that have an mp3 link. I've only gone back through June so far.) Still some scaffolding up. We'll see if I keep it or not.
There seem to be some glitches.. it keeps reverting back to default colors sometimes, and the font does the same. Maybe it's time to step away from my Halloween type colors and go with something more Parchment-y.
The tag feature may or may not be useful to me... most of my entries are all over the place, topic-wise.
I think I'm going out for Moroccan food with Danny tonight. Mmmm, couscous!
Moment of Lyric (Original in Real video or Flash version, with Monkeys)
Fire in the disco
Fire in the taco bell
Fire in the disco
Fire in the gates of hell
Don't you want to know how we keep starting fires?

Date: 2005-06-16 11:22 am (UTC)...What do you make of that? Is it saying it will show three private entries have been tagged, but others can't see what you've tagged in the private entries? Or does the entry remain private for the most part, but SHOWS the whole tagged part of the entry that's supposed to be private? :P
I'd like to be able to tag things for my own purposes, in a public entry..and not make it apparent to the world that I've tagged it. Doesn't look like we can do that. Hmm.

Date: 2005-06-16 11:26 am (UTC)I suppose you could get around it by naming the tag something obscure that only you know... like "TAG-A1" means all the entries about ice cream or something.

Date: 2005-06-16 11:36 am (UTC)How come nothing on LJ is ever simple as it is on many other sites. :P

Date: 2005-06-16 11:37 am (UTC)LJ is simple only to the people who designed it, not other humans. :)

Date: 2005-06-16 11:43 am (UTC)Hah. I think your description of who things make sense to around here, is right on. I find myself not caring about different things options paid users get. Changes to my journal layout being just one. The design system is so freaking scattered & not user friendly if you want to make more than color changes.

Date: 2005-06-16 11:45 am (UTC)the only paid option that I like is polls, and you really can get around that by just asking a question and gettign answers in comments. :)

Date: 2005-06-16 01:05 pm (UTC)I like answering them, but I noticed people tend to make poll questions witty. I just want to ask questions without having to think very hard on whether I'm asking it in a witty way or no. ;)

Date: 2005-06-16 01:36 pm (UTC)I'm feeling that way about my journal, too. Just want to blather..and don't care how it's written. That's what private entries are for, I guess. ;)
