1.17% of the population of the USA has a LiveJournal account?

That seems very, very inaccurate.

Yeah, I highly doubt it. LJ seems too counter-culutrey to be that popular among amerdicans.

Meredith makes a good point, I forgot about communities, as well as super-secret hidey journals that some folks make.

Ha! I wonder if they count my communities?

I have 4 total, then!

Take that, dirty statistics!

Well, I have about 6 lj accounts, most of which I can't remember my password for, and my contact email has expired. I would be willing to be that is something that happens a lot. I wonder how many regularly updating journals is in that number?

d.

don't forget that he also used census data which is as a rule highly inaccurate.

but I do believe a goodly percent of them FL LJ users are here in Orlando.

Independent Bar here has a good 70% LJ user tally on any given night. And that's just people I can identify.

That's craziness! I think SoFla has all the teenybopper LJers, and a couple of old farts thrown in to th emix just to keep it interesting.

I've had four accounts, only two of which remain active.

That would be handy. It's possible that no more than half of all active non-community journals are owned by unique individuals. But it's obvious that the actual LJ user base is much smaller than the raw statistics suggest.
