7277 - Bro in April, part 2

Bro called me about 10 minutes ago. His latest drama is the tale he told me of fall in off of the bus. The way he tells it, he ran to get on, the driver didn't see him, and closed the doors in his leg, cutting it open and pushing him to the ground. He says that he's banged up, and that by the time he'd gotten to the hospital "they couldn't put stitches in, because it had already healed some"... which sounds like bologna to me. I asked if he had filed a report, and he told me that he was going to file a delayed police report on Monday, but he has spoken with a lawyer and BCT.

This makes me think that it's a minor injury at best and that he's trying to blow it out of proportion so he can look to make some easy money. I reminded him that all BCT buses have cameras now, so they should be able to get a video tape of what exactly happened.

His voice was screwed up, and he sounded disoriented. Odds are good that it was self-induced, and not from any tumble.

If I counted off how many times this kid has been in accidents and wanted to sue somebody, I'd have to move on to another person after using all of my own fingers, toes, ears and anything else that might poke out and be used to tally.

I wish that identification of a problem meant that you had a solution. Not always the case.

Maybe he got beat up and can't remember?
It's sad Scotto. Some how you have to get distance between your brother and you.
Intervention perhaps.

I doubt it.. if he got beat up, he'd have told me.

I'd like to create some distance here, too, but there really isn't any, unless I move out of this house and change my job.

The best I can do is just ride it out, like before.

We've tried everything that I know of. He just isn't interested in changing his situation enough yet.

Blech.

It's frustrating as hell when you have to watch something like this from the outside and, after exhausting what options you have, being powerless.

In the end, the only one that can improve his situation is him, which sucks.



Depending on how involved you want to get, if he does manage to file a suit against the city, or whatever, it might not be a bad idea to report him to FL's department of insurance...given his record, I imagine an investigation would be done.

Could he have purposely thrown his leg in at the last minute? Trying for the sue? Has he been hit by many cars as they were backing up? Does he travel with a little girl named Sue. Little curly haired tike?

It's possible, but I suspect he'd have pulled it off better if it was deliberate.

He's rolled his bike over ore than one bumper in his time.... though he pays solo... no little tykes or kids!

Perhaps it's not my place in asking, but I have done research in Addictions...I remember an earlier post that you inquired what would cause someone to choose this time of life style....

What does he use?

depends on what's available.

I've known him to use oxycontin, heroin, xanax, and alcohol primarily.
