Cocktail party was very slow.. attendance was minimal.

ADP got so stressed that she took a tranq beforehand... I imagine that she regrets that now.

I got a lot of nice comments about the presentation, and not a bad nibble off of the veggie tray.

Glad that today is Friday, even if I have to work the weekend, I can do it in my PJs from the comfort of home. I might not have to.. EN's sounding sort of broke.. maybe he'll go for a full weekend on call.

You might want to pull out your credit statements from the last month if it's not your habit to look them over once or twice. A "company" called Pluto Data Ltd. has apparently placed false charges on hundreds of credit cards around the world in amounts from one cent to $40. None of the people who've been charged ever bought anything from the company, it goes without saying, and the feds are trying to figure it all out.

Phone calls to an 800 number listed next to the charges are being answered by a company that says it closed Pluto's account several weeks ago. And it's looking more and more like another scam from our friends in Nicosia, Cyprus, who already used the scam under the name PharmacyCard.com.

A tranq to get through a cocktail party? Wow. That's some serious anxiety.

She's a basket case... I've wanted to see her shuttled off the premesis a number of times for her own good. (preferably never to return)

Tree octopus? Is it April 1st already?

Surely theres no such thing as an arboreal octopus, is there?

*Puzzled*

I don't know if your serious or pulling my leg.

*Feels brain oozing out of ears*

Ok, you had me going for a few minutes when I read that website, but... the idea of a treedwelling octopus... *confuzzled*

his natural predator is the yeti, if that helps.

In the Pacific Northwest shouldn't that be the Sasquatch?

Yeti is Tibetan.

*Now feels geeky for knowing the difference.* :)

Well, the sasquatchi has the yeti over for tea with yak butter every now again, to go with the tree-food.

Hi there..I hope you're doing okay. :0)
I'm on the down low..not much time for LJ, but I am reading!

Maybe tell her she should order some "Rescue Remedy" instead of doing gosh knows what long-term damage to herself with chemicals. :/

I ran across a blogger.com account..and the writer mentioned a professor they had visited, with a pet octopus. The 'pus did "tricks"! Was just thinking yesterday that I wish I could find the journal again. One of the tricks was unscrewing a jar (I think..don't quote me..but I also seem to remember it's natural for pus' to be able to do that) to get his little 'pus treat out to eat. :0) Can't remember the other "trick".

Heya! I've missed seeing you pop in and about!

*big ol hugs*

I really think that me stressed coworker would do better to get a job at nature trail, or someplace more solitary and quiet.

Aww! I want Newtonh to get a pet octopus!

::Bearhugs:: back! :)))

Yeah, me, too! I'm having problems with my eyes - pain & focusing, etc. No insurance, so that's keeping me from spending much time here, too. I read my fav. journals and then have to quit reading. :P

I could see Newt being a good buddy to a pet octopus. My cats wouldn't be good friends for one.

I suspect Newton would peobably fight a little Octi., but would have fun with one he couldn't accidentally hurt.

I'm sorry that your eyes are giving you difficulty right now... is there a clinic or ER somewhere that you can go for at least a mild checkup?

*healing thoughts*

Gloves for Newt, and a little suit of armor for the octi!

I plan on calling the clinic, in hopes that they even do eye stuff. If not, I forsee calling multitudes of eye docs for the lowest price :P

Thanks..I need 'em. :0)
