Netflix has been disappointing me lately. the last 4 movies I've received have been cracked, scratched, or otherwise unviewable. Especially disappointing because one of 'em was a movie I wanted to show Danny. That one, even the replacement was screwed up. I took it as fate, and moved on.

ADP is bailing on Monday nights. That's got to hurt.. that's $200 a month out the window for her, after she didn't get her raise. I'm thinking of picking it up myself, if I can get paid the same rate. If not, I'm sure one of the other techs might like it. MM has a class Monday nights, and EN already has 3 nights a week. I don't want to overburden him. Maybe Kari, Oona, or Phillipa.

Wow, the Rock has lost a lot of weight. He looks downright skinny lately.

Superhero Motivational Posters. - I rather like Adventure and Brainpower.

Moment of Lyric:

There's only one thing that I know how to do well
And I've often been told that you only can do
What you know how to do well
And that's be you,
Be what you're like,
Be like yourself,
And so I'm having a wonderful time
But I'd rather be whistling in the dark

Best thing called out at the Ren-fest on Sunday. Peasants jeering at a couple with Ice cream cones... "I Scream! You Scream! We All Scream, because we're hunnnngryyyyy"

Danny introduced me to a new phrase yesterday - "wanker's cheese weasel maneuver" for a slimy little cheater activity. He's been on a diet this last week.. no more pizza parties for us.. sushi and salads in the immediate future, anyhow.

When technology fails us, we will revert to grass skirts and clacking batons.

Actually, clacking batons and running around looks like a lot of fun

Pretty Girl by the water. I knew I lived in Florida for some reason. Not easily seen here is the little belly ring she had on.

Or, if you don't like girls... plenty of men out there, too.

Study: Florida Schools Among Worst In Nation

TAMPA, Fla. -- Florida schools rank among the worst in the nation in teacher salaries and college funding, according to a new report aimed at improving the state's education.

The Constitutional Accountability Commission report said state schools are above-average only in third-grade reading and in the number of students returning for a second year at community colleges.

"Florida is not competing on a national level. That is pretty obvious," said Steven Shimp, a Fort Myers contractor serving on the panel and Florida Tax Watch, a consumer-watchdog group.

The amount Florida spends per student is 45th among the nation. Florida is also behind in teacher salary and funding of colleges, the panel members concluded.

The commission was created by the Florida School Boards Association to study the demands of the state constitution. In 1998, voters changed the Florida Constitution to describe education as a "fundamental value" of the state and make it "a paramount duty of the state" to provide for "high-quality" public schools.

The 31-member bipartisan commission includes educators, former lawmakers and business leaders and is chaired by former Attorney General Bob Butterworth, a Democrat, and former Comptroller Bob Milligan, a Republican.

Once the panel makes the finishing touches it discussed Friday, the governor and Legislature will give the final approval to the document.

Bush has proposed a $1.1 billion increase in spending on public schools. About half of that is tied to class size reduction. That won't leave school districts a lot to give teachers pay raises -- a point that Bush and legislators use in their arguments against reducing class size.

It's crazy how they do so many kid's albums, now.

Nickelodeon has "Higgly Town Heroes" and "They Might Be Giants ABCs" on right as I'm on my way to work.

I think some of their kid's songs are pretty darn cool.

I agree... the abc songs are my least favorite.. not as inspired as things they get more than a week to produce. :)

sure, that sounds like fun to me! I'm probably hitting the palm beaches in the near future.. if you want to hook up and grab a bite, or go for a little visit, I think it'd be a hoot.

Netflix did that to me a couple of times, during 2 different time periods. Was enough that it screwed me out of a 2 weeks worth of my netflix time, combined.

I'm a movie freak...not a tv freak, so.. :0) 2nd time I emailed them and told them I thought it fair they credit me for a free rental. They did! They do it by adding a "free rental" link to your queue to then use when you next feel like it.

hey, neat idea! I had 4 dvds in a row come up punked... not 2 weeks worth but enough, surely.

Thanks for the hint!

I would think so. I told them it inconvenienced me. That I try to time the dvd shipments for the times I have *time* to watch them - and that I was paying them money to do nothing but the automated/unthinking part, but they fell down on that.

Note: When I complained recently, and *didn't/forgot* ask for a free rental, they of course, didn't offer one. :P

Let me know if they give you one when you ask them for it! :)
