This has been happening a lot lately in other linkzones, but it's the first time someone's using my name to increase hits in an Amazon review. weird.

I've reported it to amazon.. we'll see how long it lives.

my name "scottobear" is really heavily indexed in google and yahoo. for a while now, it's popped up on different ad pages by robots looking to increase ranking in search sites. Since scottobear is a unique name, the robots think that it has some intrinsic search gold.

I have the dubious honor of being the most googled journal in all of LJ land!

Ohhh...I get it now. Often time when I look for jewelry related stuff, only the first two pages on Google are actually related to what I'm looking for. *IF* even that. Pages after that, are these weird pages that people have with a bunch of different keywords on them. Could be a whole page about rocks and trees, but then they will have the one or two keywords I'm looking for, right in the middle of it all.

But, could it also be something else, too..besides being indexed so well? In one instance, I was looking for the jewelry page of someone on my friends list. If I remember correctly, she's not indexed well...but yet her page sh owed up on a bunch of those weird robot pages.

I'm puzzled.

maybe she's well-indexed for a special combination of words? not just topaz or japser, but maybe "orange topaz with jasper"?

Strange indeed.

There are a lot of "bears" on LJ and the internet..maybe it's not you?

I'm the only scottobear I've ever found!

a lot of people put my name on ad pages, because I'm really well indexed. :)
