G-Cans - The G-Cans Project is a massive project, begun 12 years ago, to build infrastructure for preventing overflow of the major rivers and waterways spidering the city (A serious problem for Tokyo during rainy-season and typhoon season). The underground waterway is the largest in the world and sports five 32m diameter, 65m deep concrete containment silos which are connected by 64 kilometers of tunnel sitting 50 meters beneath the surface. The whole system is powered by 14000 horsepower turbines which can pump 200 tons of water a second into the large outlying edogawa river.

The photos are amazing, and the scale is stunning. I would love to visit Tokyo, just to tour that facility.

5. Is your computer in the bedroom? Laptop by the bed, main machine about 10 feet away.

6. Did you make your bed today? noooo... I'm bad about that. Clean sheets yes, made bed, no.

7. Are there clothes all over the place? at the foot of the hamper, anyhow.

8. What color are you sheets? currently black and white and red - B.Kliban cats.

9. When you walk in the bedroom what’s the first thing you smell? sandalwood, generally.

10. Do you have a T.V. in your room? yup!

11. Are there any full length mirrors in plain view? on the bathroom door

12. What’s on the table next to the bed? a lamp, book I'm reading,

13. What’s in the drawer of the table next to the bed? no drawer, underneath table is a pad and pen.

14. What covers the windows? white blinds

15. What’s piled up under your bed? nothing under the bed, sits directly on the floor.

16. Is your bed brass or wood framed? wood

17. Are the lights bright or dim in the room? dim

18. Do you use a little plug in night light? nope... but the computer casts a light blue glow if I leave it on at night.

19. Do you have Buzz Light year pillow cases? nope... A Silver Surfer Set, though!

20. Do you Drink or Smoke in your bedroom? I don't generally eat or drink in bed.

I'm a Maine Coon as well. Never heard of that breed of cat before though.

They're actually the only native American longhair breed. If you've ever seen one, they are massive cats. Huge. The one I knew had a broad head (you could put an open hand on it between his ears), eyes the size of quarters, and when he stood up on his hind legs, he could almost touch my shoulder with an outstretched paw (I'm 5'8"). And he was less than three years old, too...they don't get to be "full-sized" until they're about three.

Aww.. a friend of mine, Sappho had a wonderful Maine-coon cat named romeo... and he was gigantic, and a real lovey-dovey beast. Would walk right up to you and give love until you couldn't take it anymore.

Wow.. 5'8 reach is huge... bigger than romeo by about a foot.
