about snowflakes and shoe sizes, elephants and castles, sleepyheads and folk up all night.

I'm smiling, wondering why some folks find clowns so phobia inducing? not seamy underbelly of the world drunken, unshaved clowns with machetes, mind you, but whiteface clowns and to another extent, mimes. what caused such an extreme reaction? Nobody is afraid of jesters and stand up comics, are they? Where does carrot top fit in? He's a prop comic. more clown than comic, making the cross-over?

Which brings on another thought...

While I like snuggling under blankets, making a fine cocoon of covers, I don't like wearing socks. Really never have. Every possible opportunity, I wear birkenstocks to work, go barefoot if I can. Perhaps it my feet got colder, but they're pretty all-weather. I forget if I posted a link to barefooters, but I shall here.. I really enjoy seeing that it is legal to go unshod many many places. I think it's the constricting confinement. tight socks feel too binding, and loose socks are a bane to walk in.

Now I know the above isn't as interesting as bee-man, but I'm just babbling today. 40 more shopping days until Christmas (or the year end holiday of your choice... to paraphrase latraviata.) Speaking of which, I think it'd be a nice gesture for members of tern to write latraviata a little thank you poem or note for her efforts, and poetry writing for the members... what do you kids say?

Another good friend of mine is a barefoot type, though how he wanders around Toronto barefoot all year is beyond me. This is one of his sites, thought you might find it amusing:

He's a very adamant barefooter, and a cool guy in general. He journals, but on advogato, instead of lj. He also hangs out on SorceryNet, if I didn't scare you off. :P
His personal site is here: http://www.holoweb.net/~liam/

Also, just noticed the title of the post. It's amusing, cuz I posted an entry around the same time titled "Free your mind, and your body will follow." :>

As to the clowns:
People get manic over not being able to see the face under the makeup, I have seen kids in tears because of it and then calm down and be really sweet once the makeup is gone. It upsets our basic instinct to be able to judge a kind fac by not seeing it.

As to the feet:
I Love barefooting. I wont allow people to wear shoes in the house, I even had a bunch of those little paper sock thingie from the hospital suppliers for a while so people could take off their shoes and still be comfy. I got your link to the barefoot site last time you posted it. thanks for that! )

i'm always a little peeved that ronald talks. clowns with white faces, as a rule, are supposed to be silent.

Eh, okay, maybe not.

I love going barefoot. I think the only time I wear shoes and socks is when I go out, and occasionally when my feet get cold. And I can not sleep with socks on. They end up at the foot of the bed sometime during the night when I wear them to bed.

Im sorry I couldnt resist but afte seeing those (disgusting yet funny) photo I couldnt help but to think it was all a charade. In my mind I saw one of the fat sumo sailors as a cop in disguse as a bad guy, who "stole" the truck knowing hed get away and sharing the goodies with the other cops.

As for the bare foot thing Ive ALWAYS had at least 1 pair of black leather work boots and I cant keep em off. Ill wear them untill Im afraid I might get foot fungus stuff. My skin is just TOO sensitive to not wear foot protection when Im awake. If I dont I end up hopping around every where going "Ow,shit!Ow,shit!Ow, shit!"

Barefoot?
