I noticed hits on the photos on my page from a newspaper in my usage log. I think it was harvested for the pink floyd video link at the bottom.. they seem to collect .mov files

a lot of "hit counters" offer the same function, if you don't mind putting a little .gif image in your entries. adsense works fairly well, from what I've heard.

oh yeah, friends-only,filtered and private entries are locked down.

you can also turn off RSS, I believe.

Wow. They nabbed an entire entry, .jpg's and all, just for a .mov file link? That's robots for you! There ought to be a spray of some kind; "Kills web crwlers! Dead!" Or maybe a Bot Motel; "Bots check in, but they don't check out!"

it's funny that it said "read more here" and linked to the entry which they copied wholesale.. there really wasn't anything more to see.

actually, there's a way to stifle bots.. but *some* bots I want to visit! (I like to be able to search my public entries with google, for example)
