The Gmail hype is officially over.. sniffing on ebay returns no bid higher than a buck for a single unnamed address.

A fight I *don't* want to see. Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush in '08. for the love of Pete... don't let it happen.

Went to the Aventura Mall with Danny last night... it was that or the Seminole Casino, and roaming a new mall sounded more interesting. (I'd still like to venture over to the Hard Rock over Seminole way, sometime)

I had a nice late dinner of cucumber salad and sizzling tofu, with a cocktail made from an assortment of rums, and juices of pineapple and mango.

I want to come back sometime soon, if only to take pictures of some of the great courtyard sculptures.. after sundown, I only had my palm, and no flash made it far too dark. There's one of two kids riding an alligator that really caught my fancy.

Sculpture outside the bank. A giant rabbit leaping over a bell. The cars give some sense of scale. Why a rabbit? Why a bell on the ground? I don't know the story behind it at all. Interpretations welcome.

Brickwork pillbox/ cobbles under the sculpture. The slots cover lights that shine on the thing at night, I think.

Food Court! I don't think that a freezer-pop is available, but all the other items are... though I think the fish they serve is sans gills, tail and eyes. The Mediterranian place has fairly dried out falafel, but the hummus is good.

Neato play area, below the first level. I especially like the grouper-tunnel you can crawl through... enter through the mouth and emerge... well.. it's not all that anatomically correct, fortunately.

Giant dolphins swim by the pirate ship, but the turtle has more fans. I like the turtle more, too.

I fooled with the brightness and contrast, and this is the best shot I could get. not seen are the gator's totally sinister face and mouthful of crooked, sharp teeth, or the kids smiling and laughing. niftily sinister.

One of several indoor fountains.. when at its highest goes the full three stories up, all the way to the 24-plex theaters.

The Most frickin' evil thing in the mall. three eyeless, razor-toothed pigs, guarding some store. Also note the antler chandelier.

We dinner discussing Bill Murray movies (The Razor's Edge / Lost in Translation), philosophy, solipsism, physics - in particular why I hate dark matter/energy theory due to the circular logic I see in it, and explained to him some quantum mechanics.

Danny thinks time is an amorphous essence or force. I think it's a unit of measurement. We're probably both right.

I'm really confused about the whole gmail thing. I think that it came and went and it didn't even register with me!!

it's just a free email account via google... has a gig of storage. :)

that's the long and the short of it, really.

Yahoo responded by bumping storage to 100 meg *yay* and Hotmail to 250! (Yahoo is my main account, so I'm just happy to have more than the 6 megs it allotted me before.)

Oh thank you so much! But I fear it would be wasted on me--I don't even fill up my inbox now--besides I would only use it for evil purposes I'm sure ;>

Confusing the neighbors, changing the tides, giving people virtual wedgies, practicing voodoo--just your run of the mill mayhem.

if you have invitations available, they'll appear in the upper right of your compose box.

I think you have to sprinkle some holy water, do a little dance and throw the chicken bones in a darkened room to invite other people. Sounds like a dangerous ritual to me :D

Well, no chicken bones, but I do toss a handful of Newt's kibble in the air.

Hmmm. regarding the Clinton/Bish match-up: I think the author should have likened them to the Hatfields and the McCoys, not the Capulets and the Montegues.

and paint me blue and sign me up for the democrat tribe, it seems. even though I can't legally vote anyone off the island.

I'm not fond of choosing the cliched "lesser of two evils", but that seems to be the only choice available. :P

Neither am I. I wish the green party or the libertarians could produce someone with a chance. The system isn't set up that way though... ::sigh::
I've guess I'm gonna have to go blue

Razorback decor, how tasteful.

The fountain looks neat. I probably would have stood in front of it for hours as a child, just watching the stream of water shoot upwards.

On Time,
Sonnet 19~~Shakespeare

Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion's paws,
And make the earth devour her own sweet brood;
Pluck the keen teeth from the fierce tiger's jaws,
And burn the long-lived phoenix in her blood;
Make glad and sorry seasons as thou fleet'st,
And do whate'er thou wilt, swift-footed Time,
To the wide world and all her fading sweets,
But I forbid thee one most heinous crime:
O carve not with thy hours my love's fair brow,
Nor draw no lines there with thine antique pen;
Him in thy course untainted do allow,
For beauty's pattern to succeeding men,
Yet do thy worst, old Time: despite thy wrong,
My love shall in my verse ever live on.

Very appropriate, considering how timeless Shakespeare's own verse is.

fountains amaze me, too.. I liek the cooling effect of standing nearby, the smell of the water and the rush of white noise.

razorback boars are just spooky. If I encountered them in the wild, I'd worry more than if I ran across a wolf.

Are your wishes always the same?

Well I started throwing in pennys when I was around 5.. so I don't think so. At that point I was probably wishing for a new popple, sheera, glow-worm or something. :)
