6522- another spammer attack
Mar. 10th, 2004 09:37 amhttp://www.livejournal.com/support/see_request.bml?id=224688
Another attack, I'm now going to screen comments by anyone I don't actively
link to, in order to prevent more messy spam.
hits struck on entries 6402 and 6427, again.
[update-9:40am offending journal suspended. nice work, abuse team!]
remember, if you want to complain about spammers, it's just a link away...

Date: 2004-03-10 07:34 am (UTC)I'm probably one of the most indexed sites on LJ... (I was #1 a while back on google) and I think certain keywords summon spams. I notice the spams always land in the same entries of mine, and flying_blind has had the same trouble.
fortunately, lj_abuse is on the ball, and is putting out fires as they get lit... I hate to say it, but dropping the "invite codes" has caused this problem... hopefully the anti-spam code will be in place soon to relieve it.

Date: 2004-03-10 04:11 pm (UTC)I'm more concerned that I've recently gotten five spam forwards from LJ at the e-mail address I have posted on my user info page. I've deleted all of them without opening their attachments, of course. I don't know if the "mangle displayed address" feature isn't working, or what. I've never posted that address anywhere else on the Internet.
