Barbie-wielding man stalking neighborhood
via - http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2417158

Pasadena police are looking for a masked man knocking on doors while carrying a Barbie doll.

The man, clad in black clothes and wearing a ski mask, knocked on a woman's door in the 6700 block of Tamar about 9 p.m. Sunday. He didn't say anything but continued knocking while waving a Barbie doll. Finally he left.

A neighbor told officers a man wearing a black mask waved a Barbie doll in front of her peephole early Friday. He fled over her backyard fence when she answered the door, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

not one ash smudged forehead. i guess everyone was too busy watching the passion of christ.

i was laughing at the barbie wielding guy til i realized you can take the soft plastic off the legs and sharpen the hard plastic underneath and sharpening it, thus turning it into a weapon.

I hear all this stuff, but nothing that makes me want to see it. "Violent" is the only review, so far.

How horrid to have your eyes gouged out by barbie-legs!

How sick is it---I thought the exact same thing---"everyone must be too busy running out to see that Mel Gibson movie to actually go get their ash wednesday smudge."

In a related note I wonder if the snack bars at the movie theaters have switched over to communion wine and wafers in lieu of popcorn?

Oh I am definitely going to hell!

What if Walt Disney made "The Passion"

"Dad had to shoot Ol' Yeller today because he was foaming at the mouth. Dad said it was the highly infectious "jesus fever" hopefully we caught it in time before the rest of the livestock becomes infected."

Sure it was violent...but very powerful, too.
I saw many ashed foreheads last night.

Did you enjoy the film?

My head is still formulating everything that I saw tonight & whether it was actually enjoyable, per se. It wasn't a monster gore type of movie - not like the horrible feeling I get when I see a gory movie with a violent rape & too much of it. It was completely different from that. I went because of my upbringing as a very young girl - but I've also mentioned I was a Buddhist as a young one, too.

I'd like to make a post on it - but my head wants to think about what all I saw. :P

I look forward to seeing what you have to say on it... I've yet to see a solid review that I trust.

::is nervous about an entry about it because of all the reverse intolerance I've seen on LJ, moreso than in walking life::

I had so many things in my life as a child - psychics, palm readers, different types of christian church, Buddhism, a bit of hinduism, numerology, pyramids - and more- that I just do not understand intolerance, Scotto. :(

*Won't* stop me though. ;) ;)

Yeah.. it's a shame that intolerance is accepted, if it's a "mainstream" thing. Got to respect/poke fun at all things equally, methinks!

My biggest intolerance is folks spamming my LJ about it, but I don't feel that the movie makers themselves are to blame for that.

go get 'em, tiger-bee!!

hearts-o-palm in a can, perhaps? Gotta lotta lazy people around these parts. ;)

Hey did you live in Florida as a child? I'm wondering if you made woven mats with palm fronds as a child, like we did in Arizona.

yum, hearts-o-palm! great on a pizza!

I wintered on Marathon Key (Where the Cartoon Jonny Quest took place!) about halfway between Miami and Key West. We did indeed make mats out of palm fronds... My bro and I actually know how to make crazy frond-hats, too. we'd use the woven mats for plate settings.

Dang... folks sell thse hats for $25 a pop, now... I could make one in an hour.. I bet with practice a person could crank out 4 in an hour.

A good gig if you're at a Jimmy Buffet concert.
