6488 I did what I thought was right.
Feb. 25th, 2004 04:44 pmWhile bro is in jail, I canceled my bond on him. It'll cost him $250, rather than $150 to get out now... but I'm no longer legally responsible for him returning to court on time.
After barely making it to last court-visit, and then getting arrested for grand theft, I don't feel comfortably responsible for his actions. I'm not going to pay some bounty hunter thousands of dollars in expenses to return him to jail, should he decide to skip... plus, he broke his word to me about not getting in trouble in the meantime.
So, long story short, I'm absolved of all legal duties in regards to him. I'll still help where I can, but I'm not going to let him drag me down with him, if he insists on maintaining his present behavior.
In other news, it looks like DL failed her 90-day review, and will be sacked sometime soon. Maybe by the end of today, assuredly by the end of this pay period.
I'm home now, off duty, and contemplating going out to pick up some groceries or just to get some fresh air.
It's post-thunderstorm outside. Rain-swept. Gray, but clean. Still a while until sunset, but cool and renewed.
Maybe it is a good time for a walk, although it also feels like a good time for a nap. Let's see where things lead after I get up from the computer chair.
