TerraFly another fun satellite imaging site (overlays street names and other info, too)...nice since mapquest stopped providing them- a public service of Florida International University. The USGS has provided some really good shots.

The Potted Meat Museum - The world's largest & most diverse canned meat collection. Yum.. possum in a can!

The Yankee or Dixie Quiz gave me - 49% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

I would like a giant super villain (Dr. Feng Shui?) to rearrange all the buildings in Fort Lauderdale.

What happened to all that futuristic stuff which was supposed to change our lives by the year 2000? Retro Future

I am glad that food pills never really caught on...though I did like freeze-dried "astronaut" ice cream as a kid.

I unsubscribed from FFXI today. I can recover my character up until the last day of 5/2004, but I doubt that I will... I like playing online games for a sense of community, or at least hanging out with friends. Since I couldn't keep up with D & Sammy's leveling with being on call and all, I was quickly left in the dust, and don't much like playing online games solo. We tried, but I just couldn't keep up with folks that can spend so many waking hours playing it. Heck, I can't even surf the net for 13 hours straight, as much as I'd like to.

Bored just poking around the house... I'm going out to lunch and maybe a movie. Until later, dear journal.

Would Dr. Feng Shui really be a super villain if his nefarious plan resulted in greater positive energy flow? Or would he use his talents for eeevvviiilll? Quite the moral dilemma, he would fit in well in the Batman milieu.

I don't think there's an MMOG out there that has ever actually wiped any characters from expired accounts. Every now and then some of them will reactivate your account for a 7-day free return trial. 3 years after leaving EQ all my characters were still right where I had left them with all their equipment. Unfortunately the game had changed so much in that time that my system could no longer handle their requirements. I would go back to DAoC, but for all the things they've changed the things that made me quit are the things that haven't changed. The unequal speeds at which friends traverse the treadmill is probably one of the last things the developers will ever figure out a solution for. At least MMORPGs. MMOFPS games (such as Planetside) tend to start out everyone at about equal power. Higher levels just means more options rather than more power.

He wants to open energy flow, but the law is on the side of the tacky wealthy land and real estate owners.

I agree.. if I could stay with the gang at similar times, I could've leveled along with them, but it got to the point where you can't afford to take marvin, wendy or wonder dog out on missions requiring superman and green lantern.

That Yankee-Dixie quiz wasn't accurate at all with me... I got 64% Dixie, and I'm about as Yankee as they come. I think it's just that there were a lot of answers that came up as "nationwide" or "very common" that didn't point to a specifically Yankee way of speaking.

Cool idea, though.
