Brother came by this morning and woke me at 7am to pick up his raincoat, on his way to his court date. (He called and asked what time would be good to stop by yesterday, and I told him that *after* court would be good, but I guess he misunderstood. Hopefully the visit to the courthouse will be brief and inexpensive...we'll see.

There is fantastic amounts of rain coming down outside, and loads of thunder, too. Newt's chilling next to me, just withing petting reach. Pretty Nice.. I may nap it up some again this morn. Bro mentioned that the place he's staying at has adopted a cat... apparently he's dealing with allergies fairly well so far.

I have to schedule my ride to tomorrow's staple-removing appointment... How wonderful that'll be! I'm hoping that'll also mean I can get back to paces with ACIM, too.

So... There's a Cowboy Bebop Movie?

A case of curiosities (some sound), unusual taxidermy and assemblage inspired by 18th and 19th century curiosity cabinets. I may've linked here before.

Wondering where Ray's been.. haven't seen much hint of him online in the last week or so. Danny's still all flu-buggy. Must be pretty serious, because he hasn't been to school this week.

I finally caught the [livejournal.com profile] menstrualhut's memories up to date. I need to get back into doing that once every few weeks, to stay on top of it.

Recently Downloaded The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown... you've got to love the Internet. Especially alt.binaries.e-book.* (palm is especially handy...no pun intended.)

I haven't seen a *single* positive review of Matrix 3 yet.(And I hear the Merovigian is totally pointless.) I am looking quite forward to Return of the King. [update, I've heard *very few* positive sin a sea of negatives.]

Earlier, I flipped over every TV channel known to man and many known to monkeys. Not much on.

Real mod, peapod, buff bod, hot rod, obtuse, rubber goose, green moose, guava juice, giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake!

Yep, there is a Cowboy Bebop movie. The movie was written after the series completed, but it takes place during the series. It' has been sometimes referred to as episode 22.5 (or 23.5 - I forget).

I'm guessing you've seen the series (one of my favorite anime's shows to be honest) but I won't say anything else in case you (or anyone else reading) hasn't seen the whole series.

The movie came out a couple of years ago but was released earlier this year in the US with an egnlish dub using the same english voice actors from the TV series.

Over all the movie is not amazing, and I tend to rank it as a 7 or so. There were far better episodes, but it has it's strong moments.

Probably more information than you wanted.

I was wondering, considering how the series ended... (not much chance of a reunion show)

I agree, it's certainly one of the better ones! Thanks for the info... I'll look into it.. a 7 is a good rating, I figure.

I only give it a 7 since for the most part the characters are all scattered and working on solo. But overall, the characterization is wonderful, and there are some very nice moments for most of them (I can't remember any real good moment for Jet off the top of my head, but it has been about a year since I saw it - which reminds me I need to get all my Bebop DVDs back fomr someone who I loaned it to).

Glad the information helped!

As a random tangent, the same company did a newer series (newer as in last year) called Witch Hunter Robin. Not exactly the same, but there is a similiar noir-esqe fel to it. Not space driven, more about psionics, and it has a decidedly strong X-Files-like quality to the shadowy elements of things and hints of darker mysteries. I'm not sure if it's out yet in english dub, but copies are available in Japanese with subtitles if you look around. Bandai is releasing an Egnlish dub release sometime in the near future. From the first 5 episodes I've seen, I enjoyed it a great deal and would recommend it. But as a conversation with a friend recently brought to mind, Anime is a highly selective thing, and no two tastes ever seem to run exactly the same.

Happy viewing either way!

Sounds good to me! I'll keep my eyes peeled for Witch Hunter Robin, too.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to most anime stuff, too true, but am willing to give stuff that doesn't look "immediately bad" a chance.

I've got half a mind to fire up ol' kazaa to sniff out CB.
