The very first snowfall I ever saw in Paradise arrived on April Fool's Day, after a winter of nothing but chilly rain and the rare hailstorm. We got four inches, and the next day was bright and warm and most of the snow melted away. The whole town was full of the trickling sound of snowmelt.
