Quinalt looks strangely clever. He's got a hidden underground base beneath the yurt, I bet.

It's raining hard out now, with strong winds. Exciting to hear that by the pale light of the laptop. It's a great sound...just came out of nowhere. The scent of ozone and cleanliness is filling my room.

Random South Florida Factoids from the Ice Age - Florida was quite a bit different 12,000 years ago. There were no Florida Panthers, but did play home to the largest saber-toothed cat that ever lived, Smilodon floridon, which sank its massive canines into prey over an area twice the size of modern Florida. Camels trekked the landscape — the animal is actually native to North America but moved into Asia over the Bering Strait. Some things, however, haven't changed. Manatees were still roaming the (propeller-free) waters, and Florida was still the Sunshine State — despite most of the world being frozen solid, Florida was only about 10 degrees cooler than it is today.
