I used to have a full beard... the goatee is new as of april of this year.

full beard is kinda 70's
just a moustache is pretty 80's
goatee kinda came around in around the mid 90's and has stayed. :)

pretty close, actually. :) it was a candid shot while packing... my girlfriend at the time says "hey!" I look op, and am promptly blinded by the flash. note the harried strip of hair hanging down the right side of my face. :)
