feelings hurt?

some folks I talked to fairly frequently last month have kind of all but blown me off. It saddens me, as I'm a nice guy. Folks get caught up in other situations, though, I guess. One's an LJer, two are folks that have moved out of state, and one that left where I work currently.


I'm happy that there are other folks that are around for me to talk to, both on LJ, and in real life. The really irritating thing is, I call and e-mail, and get no reply. that's just rude. If you don't want to talk to me, tell me, don't have me glean it from holding one-sided conversations.

This has been a public service announcement. Treat people with honesty and courtesy.

lotsa folks gets real uppitty when you is growin..."don't you know you is supposed to be a sleep-walkin zombie like the rest of the 'community'?..now you jus stop growin an havin real dreams and come back to sleep,you're makin folks nervous,we gave up on our dreams long ago...now be like us or we'll treat you real bad..."

thanks, DT! you've been quite supportive, and I appreciate that. It's possible... I suspect it might be more of a case of 'ooh, a different shiny thing to occupy my time' now.

Hey.

Three of my close friends have abandoned me in as many weeks, and yesterday (my birthday) my two brothers and grandparents failed to even send a card, while my parents defended their actions in some incomprehensible way.

If you're getting the idea that I'm currently down on the idea of friends and family... ding ding ding ding ding...

On the other hand, there were friends and viewers (and even one damned affectionate husband) who spent time cheering me up and wishing me well. I think it's better to focus on what you actually have than on what you perceive you've lost.

Now I'm going to take my own advice...

thanks! too true, I do have several nice friends that are there for me... I just get upset when folks do a fade... I suppose it's a fact of life.

i know how you feel about people blowing ya off - when i first got pregnant i lost a couple of awesome friends... one being my beloved roomie brian. i wasn't *cool* anymore cause i couldn't do all the fun things that we used to do. i would call him & he would rush me off the phone. i'd email him - no reply.
nine months later he is FINALLY coming around - must be because i'm about to give birth and he wants to pick up where we left off -- but i don't think thats gonna happen.

Nope, actually, you're not. :) I understood your position of being in a hotel, and being a part of the chaos set. Of the folks I wrote about, I've gotten one clarification, and a reasonable one. Seriously, I do the '5-strikes you're out' school. I figure if I have to reach out, and not get an answer after five attempts, then odds are good I'm not going to hear from them again. More computer-tpyes that have launched and decide to 'not bother with the older friends', akin to Alex and countless others.
