Aug. 10th, 2002 10:18 pmNo dice on the recorder.. and my nearby comic shop is price-gouging for single figures... The other place was $1 yelow, $2 blue, $3 red... PPF had the same stuff for $2 yellow, $3.50 blue, $5 red.
fark that noise... I'll just have danny pick some up for me at the cheaper zone.
juliabee put me on to a nifty idea, too... making custom ones! I've got more army men than I know what to do with...the click bases don't look too difficult to replicate.
Another fun thing.. I was in Eckerd's, and back to school sales are going.. protractors, index cards... all sorts of cool school supplies. They still make trapper keepers! I remember waaaay back in the halcyon days of my youth when they were introduced. Before them.... oh, the humanity... a stack of duo-tang folders, a different color for each class, each course written on the cover neatly in black felt tip. If they didn't have internal pockets, you were hosed, and possibly doomed to lose information.
I couldn't resist. I bought a Duo-tang folder. Orange. With internal pockets. It cost me $0.23...I think it'll be my new Recorder music book... :) Now, I just have to pick up that recorder.

Date: 2002-08-11 08:19 am (UTC)Here are some things that I saw: There's a female, fairy looking clix that makes over really nicely into different things. You can also use thin wire, twist it or wave it a little bit and then you paint it with model paint. Made for very cool long hair on the Clix. I don't know where they originally came from, but there were some long robot-y arms that twisted and curved all over the place that were placed on a Clix. You can give them better weapons, too. From what I could see, the model paint blends & covers any work that's been done.
Not sure what type of glue?
I urged my friend to put them up on Ebay because surely someone would want customs. Ebay shut the auctions down both times, and said the company who makes them wouldn't let him sell them there.
5 bucks for one red? A whole box that could contain a red or 2 is about 5.99 from what the collector boys here told me. They have been going in together (about 4 people), buying 1 lg. box containing the smaller boxes. They open them together and trade and get ones they want that way.
I had a green trapper keeper in grade school!
I swear Scotto..I chat more over here, than I do in my own journal. :D

The fairy one is wasp.. :) She's a fun one... I could see her being easily modded.
yup.. the booster packs of 4 assorted ones (random inside, you can't see) cost about $5 at the cheaper store, too. PPF was just price-gouging.
feel free to give your friend my email addy... I wouldn't mind buying a custom or two, if the price was reasonable. :)

I'm happy to have you over my journal any ol' time... you're a welcome friend.
