Jun. 3rd, 2002 11:09 amgute fahrt means "good drive" in German. (not PROPERTY TRAVEL, like google's translation says)
so, after riding with someone, when you get out of the car, be sure and tell them "GUTE FAHRT!"
*snerk*
Ok, off to work, dear journal.

Date: 2002-06-03 08:38 am (UTC)we encountered this fart-joke gigglyness often in my german glass. we had several sections on travel, and so we used the word "fahrt" a lot. hehe.
while it can be used in the way that you've used it, a more appropriate usage (especially if speaking to a german) would be as a goodbye when someone is leaving. the word "fahrt" means drive, but also is a generic term for any form of travel that isn't walking... anything with wheels. :)
