Hm. Well, in evaluating my personal flaws... I'd say sloth (on the physical side) is the real winner for me, although I do dip into the Anger and Lust jars on occasion.

How aobut you folks? which of the big seven are you most guilty of?

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Covetousness is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Greed.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

i don't know if it's necessarily horrible to have pride. i do have it but it's not excessive. i can be incredibly lazy (i guess this would count as "sloth"). there are just some things i don't want to do. envy and covetousness i have but it's nothing where i want to be some other person or want something so bad that i'm willing to steal it.

I think that there's a good pride, too.

Envy. And Greed.
Sometimes Wrath, but Envy is the big one.


Last year in our utter annoyance of Fox's 'Greed' game show, several friends and I thought that it might be a good idea to have game shows featuring all of the deadly sins. Of course, we couldn't figure them all out by ourselves, we had to ask that quiet religious kid, but we did manage to amuse ourselves in this fashion for several days.

ENVY. sad that i admit it, but doesn't everyone see something they admire in the people they meet and wish they had it for themselves?

hmm... to a degree... I'm pretty happy with who I am. I can use some self-improvement, but I really dont mind if someone is richer, smarter, or better looking.

ok i admit that sounded a little insecure, i too am happy with myself as a person, but think about it, to be honest, it has degree of truth in it
