television here has "crossing over w/john edward" on the tube... I'm willing to accept that there are unknown mysteries out there, and possibly psychics, but this guy rings all my fraud bells.

it's some sort of old folks magnet, though. the geriatric crowd here is enthralled by its infomercial-like design. I suspect that I could pull a similar carny scam on the people here. simply get a big enough crowd, and mention some generic po-culture references..."someone here once met a guy named john...possibly a relative?"

this office seems to have a better sense of throughput...patients are cycling at a good clip. I is standing room only, here, too, though. the woman on my left mentioned that it's about a 45 minute wait after your assigned time. not as bad as the other place.

well, back to reading the lensmen books. (my latest synch to the palm, along with the latest onion and local news.)

until later, little journal.

I find that show very entertaining but I bet you could pull off something similar, easily ; )

*grins*

it was entertaining, but it jangled my "scotto-sense" hard. :)

I can't bring myself to watch that TV show. It looks like so much of a lame sham .. like watching an hour-long syndicated "Miss Cleo" commercial. I don't think I could handle watching that.

My room-mate [livejournal.com profile] postumus has a bit more knowledge of that 'scene' and can spot the fakers. I haven't made him watch that show and now that we're losing our cable I bet he won't get a chance to.

The other shows that bother me is the psychic that talks to pets. I think it's on Animal Planet.. I saw it once and I don't have a lot of incentive to go find it again.

aye aye.... actually, I think the show is on major network daytime tv.

animal planet is fun, usually, though. that's my baby and animal ER are both great shows.

I usually get drawn into those real-life cop shows .. like "real cops" "police videos" "criminals caught on tape" "worlds most dangerous criminals" ... yeah .. I've watched too many shows. Probably enough to know what not to do if I were to commit a crime.

my ex and i went to one of the state fair hypnotist's "private shows", where he makes the "hypnotized" people do more risque (slightly) things. one of his extras that he sold after all his shows was a quit smoking hypnosis tape. i found it quite telling that of the 150 or so people in the room, at least 140 were smoking heavily.
