According to theseInternet Usage Stats from January, the average Internet user goes online 28 times a month, spends 30 minutes online per session, but only visits 19 unique sites per month. That seems freakishly low, but it might indicate that once Internet users find the sites that they like to use, they rarely deviate. Or it might be that many users use the Internet just to get to AOL or Yahoo! to chat or IM, or LJ..... What do you think accounts for that low number of site visits per month? Got any proof? How many sites do you visit per month?

No facts here sir

I have reason to believe that the average number of sites visited would be 239 per person per month were it not for the LJ addicts who pull this stat down to 19.

lol

I usually try to go find cool new sites, but I only actually get around to it once about every 7 to 10 days or so.
Most visited sites for me aside from LJ include:
gamefaqs.com
nintendo.com
robotech.com (mostly to see if they done building it up yet)
purefiction.com (great siter for aspiring authors, Id recommend it wholeheartedly.)
mail.yahoo.com (Why got to yahoo itself when all I use it for is mail???)
and of course algorelovesyou.com & georgebushlovesyou.com
Its amazing just how many laughs I can get at those 2 sites.

I tend to hit a lot of new sites per month. Most links are like an old unmarked road on a sunny afternoon with no particular place to be: irresistible. So I go.

But man, I've found some weird sites out there.

Hey, I saw on your profile that 23 is listed as one of your interests. 23 is my number, and has come into my life in weird ways. What's your interest in it? Do you know anything about it?

Also, Maryland ROCKS!

he he.

The truth is not one
Nor is it five
But it is both of these things
And at least three more besides.

In true 23 fashion, I could not get that site to work. I got an error message. But first I had to idiotically search around my keyboard for the ~.
I tried to get info on 23 lotsa times, but couldn't find anything. Here it is my number, and I know nothing about it, just that it keeps popping up, real obvious, right in my face. I don't get it...
I'm gonna try this site again sometime.

All I know is that for me, it is a number of duality.

I go online at least once daily and spend an average of 90 minutes online. Lately, I've been looking for work and spending a LOT more time online. I read my comics everyday at phillynew.com. I like to read this and that at stories.com, fray.com and findpoetry.com. I have to visit myfamily.com, yahoo.com, bmg.com, and qpb.com to keep track of everything else. So on average, I visit a few dozen sites monthly. Surfing the Internet is a full-time job!

My "internet usage rate" is really sporadic. Some days I can waste a massive and unhealthy amount of time on the 'net, while on other days I don't even turn on the computer. Just depends on what's happening. I do have a few regular sites that I frequent, but I also visit many others. Whoopee.

Hehehehe....

I'm one of those pulling the average up some months, and down others.

Sometimes I never go anywhere other than LJ, But other times I hit a couple of hundred sites in a day..... (Not pages, Sites - Separate domains)

28 times a months for an average of 30 minutes? hmmm. NOT!!! hehe!
I am connected 24/7, so I guess I go on once per month for an average of 43200 minutes.... boy those stats are way off! lol!
Actually, since I am a full-time mom, I check in many times through the day (making it appear that I am actually "on the internet" all day). I leave my mail and several browser windows open, as well as Excell, or Word or whatever I am working on. Every once in a while I wander by, hit reload and see what's new. Since I also do my banking and pay my bills on the computer - more opportunity to check in. Besides all of that, the computer is in the room most used in our house, so if I am sitting at the desk opening mail, I might as well hit reload then too :)
As for the number of unique sites, I typically visit several a day, so no, 19 is too low.

30 minutes per online session? Not in my world! lol. I usually get online 2 or 3 times a day for a minimum of an hour each.

I usually don't go to lots of different sites, unless I'm looking for something. I'm normally just on LJ, my site, or friend's sites.

I certaintly get my $19.95 worth!

Sometimes it is just pings, To see if IP's have changed so I can update my local DNS server... (I haven't yet worked out how to get it to auto-update.... I should do that sometimes)

It has the 30 most visited sites in it (The 30, Not my 30. I'm not the only one using this connection, but I do have logs)

I should do that sometimes)
