SO… Scott, how are you doing lately?

Well, it’s been a mixed bag, dear journal.

Sorry I haven’t said anything to you in great detail for the past many moons but I’ve been pretty occupied here and there with other things; some important, and others not so much.

The 25th of October was my 5th wedding anniversary to my best friend and love of my life. I am truly blessed to have her with me. It’s also the 12th year I’ve had Newton – and Pye’s 5th annum of adoption. We’re a pretty close-knit and snugly family.

The last year or so has been a pretty difficult time for me; I have depression. I have anxiety attacks. I also have a bosun’s whistle. Of the three, I’d prefer if I only had the whistle. I’d also like a good, regular paying gig rather than independent contract work.

My mood recently has been variable but with mostly dark moods… lots of sadness coming from places I can’t see. It can be difficult to correct an issue if you don’t know the source of the problem.  I’m working on it. I’m going to do a little working on it here in my journal – just to see if it helps. If I don’t like it out in public, I’ll turn it private.

Bummer about Halloween – The Poe House guy is losing funding next year so the crypt/graveyard donated the evening Halloween tour as a fundraiser for the Poe House. Poe House guy is hiring actors and seems fully staffed (even though they offered all the volunteers services – including BHK and me). Unfortunately the Poe House guy has decided to do the Poe grave site tour on the 30th. The docents tried to talk him out of it because she told him for YEARS people have been used to Halloween night no matter what night it is. She mentioned that they’d put up signs on Halloween to inform people that the regular tour would be back in 2012. So… what to do for Halloween this year?

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles but so glad to hear that you found your best friend and true love. I hope that knowing how lucky you are to have her helps you find your way to a lighter place.

I am sorry things are rough scotto potato, I am thinking of you and sending mucho love. this a good place to vent when things get overwhelming. sometimes a pity party is just what is needed.
I can't believe it's been 5 years already! Congrats to you both, big hugs to to whole fam.

I'm sorry you're going through that. You're not alone, of course, but you know that. I have depression, too. Quite a bit of it on my friends list.
