I wonder if the height statistics are skewed by the fact that women live longer than men and tend to "shrink" as they age? I've always been frustrated when they say 5'4" is average for women because I'm 5'3" and nothing in the world is scaled to fit someone my height. Regular pants are too long. Chairs are too tall. Counters are too high. Shelves in stores are unreachable. So, if half of the women in the US are my height or shorter, why is everything so damned huge? Of course, I know the reason for this. We studied it in my ergonomics class back when I was in engineering school. Its that whole "design for maximum human use" 5th/95th percentile thing, but still. I wish, just once, my feet touched the floor when I sat in a standard chair. And I know you have the opposite problem....Josh does too. You're strapping 95%'ers and I'm a sad little 5%'er. We're freaks!
