The Flemish are largely in the northern half of Belgium and the French-speakers are in the southern half....which makes sense, I suppose. Belgium is really great, actually. French-style cuisine, amazing beers, and friendly folk. Antwerp has gorgeous Art Nouveau architecture and a fabulous gay club scene, Bruges has quaint medieval buildings and twisty canals, and Brussels has Jean Claude Van Damme and the EU headquarters. Oh, and they invented french fries! What's not to like?

Victor Borge! Oh man, I miss him. Such a wonderfully funny, talented human being. I remember staying up way too late watching the 'special' during pledge week on public TV just so I could see the punctuation part.

Classic(al) humor is a wonderful thing... if you've never heard any of it, and you're interested, try to find some PDQ Bach (a.k.a. Prof. Peter Schikele. It's like Wierd Al for classical music rather than pop. Having grown up in a classical house, I find it hilarious. (The official page.)
