Lately, the weather is proper rainy season fare - warm and humid, dense, moist atmosphere even when the water falls from the sky. All you need for a soothing shower would be a bar of soap and some privacy.

I've been feeling like it's time for a change. Something simple, even like getting that haircut that I dodged a month or so back. As long as I don't have to use a lot of product, I'd probably be ok with short hair.(after a period of shock adjustment)

Why is it so much more acceptable for a stranger to try and bum a cigarette off of someone else (even if they're not currently smoking... or even holding a pack of cigs), rather than say, a stick of gum? does the addiction make the beggar more brave, or maybe the social side of smoking is the thing.

Yesterday, I went to breakfast and see superman with Tina - had a nice time, and I think that I enjoyed the movie more the second go. Going to put plans in motion to maybe get Danny and Tina to go see pirates after my journey to the keys.

We visited the Victoria park diner, 17th day open. cash register receipts still read "Miami Subs". The food was reasonable, but big louie's is better both in quality and cost. On the ride home, I spoke with an employee - the franchise owners are still the same ones that owned the Miami Subs before it was converted. Given the location, I suspect that they can't help but succeed. (Unlike the archives cafe... which is closing as of 7/7. The place is already mostly boxed up. To be honest, I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did. The "new location" is selling books on ebay from the garage, it seems.

I lovely time gabbing with bhk on the ride to the theater - I'm envious of the fossil-rich environment where she lives.

Monday's plan is a good walkabout if it's not too rainy - otherwise, stay in and clear a few more boxes.

Moment of Lyric - youtube video

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful
Wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Water dissolving...and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right? ...am I wrong?
And you may tell yourself
My god!...what have I done?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

"after my journey to the keys." Trying not to read too much into this, but does it look like a go? I'm thinking about you with a haircut. Hmmm. Hard to imagine.

Right now, a hurricane would be nice.

We get one now and again but only in winter and not very often. Last one the UK had was in 1988. Destroyed swathes of forest and plenty of devestation. Weathermen missed it as well.

I had hair to the middle of my back for about 14 years and cut it short. I thought that the shock would be tremendous, but it only took about 10 minutes to get used to it, love it even.

I've had short hair before, but it's been a while, now. I'm sort of curious how much it'll change behaviors of certain folks... right now, the unaware think I'm a big biker or hippie, depending on my choice of t-shirts.

Pretty darn steamy here too... and I don't get the day off.

At least I wasn't supposed to. The A/C here at the state office (I'm keeping the other 3 people working company) is broken, so we may all be going home at noon.

Darn!

Now I just need to figure out why the sirens are going off... Seems a little odd.

Now that was one intangible that I didn't expect. The change was drastic and immediate. I never realized that I was discriminated against because of my hair, but I surely noticed a difference when it wasn't there.

Well, I asked one of our fire guys about the sirens (they both also volunteer for local departments).

Apparently Riley County tests all their sirens on the first Monday AM of the month. Tones including dam failure, tornado, and air raid.

Air Raid!

Egads.

(That one was a bit spooky to sit through... even though I'm way too young to have ever had to react to any of that sort of thing, I still wanted to crawl under a desk until it went away.)

Short hair would be very cool--I used to bob every summer to escape the heat but lately I've been lazy and letting it grow. I kinda dig putting it in two braids and then kayaking cause then I can pretend I'm Sacajawea. I'm thinking I'm probably going to have to cut in into a more conservative style once I take the bar and start seriously looking so I might as well get my wild woman of Borneo yayas out now.

Go bald and with a goatee that would be cool.
