A recent discovery has me happy, curious and a bit nervous. (Something that I should've recognized quite some time ago, but my normally perceptive self has a bit of a blind spot when it comes to that sort of thing.)

In other, vaguely related news, I quite enjoy the scent of hickory smoked apple-cured bacon, even if it is really just the freshly-oiled and reanimated Hoff, standing in the sun. Shoo, flies!

I forgot ot mention yesterday that on Friday, Danny and I picked up a pair of "Cursed" Pirate game boosters... hoping fo ra ghost ship or a sea monster. No dice, save for a couple of spooky crewmen... but the ships I did get were pretty keen... a little one-masted pirate ship and a spanish schooner that are both especially good looking and capable. Some of the new crew are impressive, but a bit costly at 7-10 points, depending on what they can do.

I will be buying more packs, because eI really want a kraken or other sea monster to mess with folks.

That'll teach me to go out on the porch barefoot after the floor is freshly mopped.

Moment of Lyric - Youtube video

Here we stand
Like an Adam and an Eve
Waterfalls
The Garden of Eden
Two fools in love
So beautiful and strong
The birds in the trees
Are smiling upon them
From the age of the dinosaurs
Cars have run on gasoline
Where, where have they gone?
Now, it's nothing but flowers

There was a factory
Now there are mountains and rivers
you got it, you got it

We caught a rattlesnake
Now we got something for dinner
we got it, we got it

There was a shopping mall
Now it's all covered with flowers
you've got it, you've got it

If this is paradise
I wish I had a lawnmower
you've got it, you've got it

Years ago
I was an angry young man
I'd pretend
That I was a billboard
Standing tall
By the side of the road
I fell in love
With a beautiful highway
This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
Where, where is the town
Now, it's nothing but flowers
The highways and cars
Were sacrificed for agriculture
I thought that we'd start over
But I guess I was wrong

Once there were parking lots
Now it's a peaceful oasis
you got it, you got it

This was a Pizza Hut
Now it's all covered with daisies
you got it, you got it

I miss the honky tonks,
Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens
you got it, you got it

And as things fell apart
Nobody paid much attention
you got it, you got it

I dream of cherry pies,
Candy bars, and chocolate chip cookies
you got it, you got it

We used to microwave
Now we just eat nuts and berries
you got it, you got it

This was a discount store,
Now it's turned into a cornfield
you got it, you got it

Don't leave me stranded here
I can't get used to this lifestyle

Just in case you haven't seen the little coupon/flyer, you can get a "free" ($2.50 for S&H) Guichuan ship (10-masted) if you end up getting 12 packs of Curse ships from a real store. We picked up the coupon yesterday, but doubt we'll actually buy that many packs.

Anyhow - details at www.piratescardgame.com

If nothing else, the ship is spiffy enough for a look at the page. :)

Yarr!

I too find myself curiously, curious. Which is curious as I'm not normaly one to snoop.

I also enjoy the snoopage, so it's not that curious, really, that I'm curious. Have you noticed that he hasn't yet atisfied our curiousity?

But wait, there's more! He says he's happy, curious, AND...AND what??? The suspense. This is worse than waiting to see if The Hoff will be ok.

Yeah that "and" is a real cliffhanger! So let's just fill it in with our own interpretations shall we?---I'll start: "Happy and curious AND thinking seriously about converting to Buddhism, living in Nepal and training in the ancient Buddhist monk tradition of throating singing. Newton of course would remain Episcopalian."

"Nothing but flowers" is my favorite "I'm sick of civilization I want to live in a tipi on a national park and be misanthropic" song.

I guess I'd have to take something with buttons though--so I could take my tivo and just push the buttons without really hooking it up to anything---that'd make me pretty happy.

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing, except I was sure that it would be the lost Tibeten art of the sacred finger bells. Amazing.

happy, curious, and.

where did that last word go?

Newt is an aboriginal pantheist.

It's a strange german tradition: for every football-world-championship the german team has to produce an album with some schlager-singer. In 1994, the boys got lucky. They got to record with The Village People.
