Mon-*DUN DUN DUNNNNN*-day. Another morning meeting o'doom, and then I contend with Semi-annual and quarterly statistics for funding. Tedious, but the bean counters will leave me alone while I assemble the stats.

Moment of Lyric - (link to copy, right?'s page hosting it)

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"

Chorus:
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Tuesday will be some more time out with Danny... probably show him the new LotR online game, see what's what with it.

Learned yesterday that reconfiguring a DSL modem is a bit more difficult if you're doing it wirelessly thorugh a router than if you just have an ethernet cable plugged in.

(You must connect directly to the computer's NIC to make the necessary changes before you connect the router, because you will probably be unable to access the modem interface after you connect the router. The reason is that the modem interface is 192.168.1.254 which is a local IP. By default, most routers do not have the capability to route a local IP out of their WAN port. There are several ways around this problem but they usually involve extra equipment, a major configuration change, or requires you to utilize the router as a simple switch.

ipconfig /refresh and ipconfig /renew is your good friend. Never forget to set it to bridge, because dual pppoe is no good.

Torrents are coming down faster now, and big brain is now stationed where Newtcam server was - I prefer to have my primary machine on the wired connection, twice as fast than cordless. Newtcam is now on lappie, because I need to get another cat-5 for the Linux box.I couldv'e sworn I had a few spares around, but I think they were purged during the move. (or worse, used to tie boxes down!)

I may play with streaming Newtcam later this week, if the mood strikes. We'll see how the bandwidth is... I think I can set it to stream only on motion, which would be the best of both worlds.

end of tech talk.

Your Love Style is Agape

You are a caring, kind, and selfless partner.
Unsurprisingly, your love style is the most rare.
You are willing to sacrfice your world for your sweetie.
Except it doesn't really feel like sacrifice to you.
For you, nothing feels better than giving to the one you love.

Hey Toto’s Africa.
One of favorite lyric mix-ups comes from that song, my nephew how was about 6 or 7 at the time sang.
“There’s nothing that a hundred men on mars could ever do.”

see, you're #2 of 27 fans. :)

As much as I want to dislike bruce willis, you really have to admire most of his keeno movies... 12 monkeys, his m-night shamamalamadingdong flicks and die hard...

plus, moonlighting.

For it being the 'most rare' type it seems to be popping up pretty frequently. I am also agape. And that is not painting a really good mental picture for me, all wide eyed and jaw dropped is not the look of love I'd be shooting for...

From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
well, you seem quite lurvely to me! I'm sure you'll get that vibe when you least expect it, to use the cliche!

It's the easiest way to love, I think. Just give yourself over to it.

Ok, you know it takes some time and effort to build the mental barriers that erase all traces of this idea from my conscious mind and then boom, there it is, just when I'm thinking happy hudson hawk thoughts, an ugly reminder of things far more disturbing...

Caruso did such a fine job, mainly due to the amount of speaking lines he had... and Bernhard.. welll, she was meant for the role!
