I sent a few emails out, but got lazy.

Surprising, because usually my doodles are happy-ish.

Well, with the exception of -

When I was little, I wished I could accurately throw a quarter hard enough to explode cinder block. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind having that ability now. Why did I want to explode cinder block? I don't remember.

Pictures on the camera, one in the waiting room tweaked a bit.

Waiting room. I got tired of waiting, but not enough to spin in a circle, moaning. I thought this would spice it up a little.

Reconfigured the CPAP, and last night's sleep made a *world* of difference. Super-good double-plus nicey-nice sleep, and I didn't need as much of it, because it's of a higher quality.

Moment of Hoff & Lyric - The Hoff mp3
(or if you prefer, Willie Nelson, or John Denver, Jancis Harvey.. or my personal fave, Arlo Guthrie.) all via

Riding on the City of New Orleans,
Illinois Central Monday morning rail
Fifteen cars and fifteen restless riders,
Three conductors and twenty-five sacks of mail.
All along the southbound odyssey
The train pulls out at Kankakee
Rolls along past houses, farms and fields.
Passin' trains that have no names,
Freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobiles.

Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

Dealin' card games with the old men in the club car.
Penny a point ain't no one keepin' score.
Pass the paper bag that holds the bottle
Feel the wheels rumblin' 'neath the floor.
And the sons of pullman porters
And the sons of engineers
Ride their father's magic carpets made of steel.
Mothers with their babes asleep,
Are rockin' to the gentle beat
And the rhythm of the rails is all they feel.

Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

Nighttime on The City of New Orleans,
Changing cars in Memphis, Tennessee.
Half way home, we'll be there by morning
Through the Mississippi darkness
Rolling down to the sea.
And all the towns and people seem
To fade into a bad dream
And the steel rails still ain't heard the news.
The conductor sings his song again,
The passengers will please refrain
This train's got the disappearing railroad blues.

Good night, America, how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

It's pretty amazing what a guy can do with just sand and an overhead projector. The art itself is keen, but the transitions are pretty inspired, too.

I agree with you that the Arlo Guthrie version is a fave! I've got the 'greatest hits' disc in my work truck right now, and enjoy cruising around the middle of nowhere singing along with Alice's Restaurant, the Pickle Song, and the New Orleans tune. :) Good stuff!

Each of 'em a Classic!

I seem to only ever Hear Alice's Restaurant at the holidays, in recent years.

The Hoff? You tryin' to torture someone?
You should also snag those mp3's on Tree Lounge under the "Maryland" post--they are pretty cool--especially the Jayhawks one--great band. I did a whol3 Baltimore thing on my ipod and bought most of those songs offa itunes a few months ago and it make sa cool mix. They shoulda included Nina Simone's Baltimore thou--her cover of that Randy Newman song is funky and melancholy at the same time.

Tech Support Newtie sez, "Why aren't you running XP on this thing??"

A gift for you: He's Hoff-tacular!

By the way... Did you hear? The Hoff might not be in the new "Knight Rider" movie! Say it ain't so!

Newtie sez "Silly laptop! you really should put linux on there!"

How could you do knight rider sans the hoff? Will there be no car, either?

It had to be done!

Tree Lounge has a bucket of good mp3s available. :)

They'd better hurry... he's got to be pushing 80 by now.

The "H" stand for either "hawt" or "hairy"....

Check out his perfectly smooth man-feet! Could be Photoshop trickery, but I prefer to think that's natural podiatric perfection...

The pictures are cool. I like the one with you spinning...It made me smile at the end when your eyes got big..lol :)

The sand video I've seen before. I have to agree, it is truly amazing what a guy can do with sand and a projector. It's insanity, really!! Who knew??

Newt is always a sight for soar eyes. I love that kitty of yours. He seems so sweet!

Have a fantabulous day!! *hugs*

are newts claws intact? wrestling with my lil girl can be kind of dangerous, as hers are all still there and sharp.

rear claws are still fully functional, his front claws were removed when he lost his reproductive parts. (claw removal was against my will)

they said that declawing was "standard procedure".

pissed me right off. But, fortunately, since he's an indoor boy, he doesn't seem to mind.

was that the shelter, or a vet?

either way, i hope he doesn't see those people again. as horrible as it is for them to go through, i love, love, love, to play with clawless paws. i'm not even allowed to touch my girl's feet, which is double sad as she has several very pretty pink and black marbled pads :(.

From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
no, I go to a new vet... in fact I'm looking to find yet another, that is close by to the new house.

Newton will let you mess with his feet if he loves you.
