see, that could've ended very badly, indeed - putting your life at risk. I'm glad those other cops arrived when they did... I don't know how I would've reacted in the same situation, but I suspect a similar response.
Even if he'd shown some sort of ID, I think I'd have been leery, without actual other-cop backup, at that point.
