GeotargetI can get episodes of Mythbusters on Bittorrent. Ah, it's been fun catching up with one of the shows I've actually missed from cable's absence. The shows I torrent and delete (or burn to dvd, if it's worth hanging on to) after I watch 'em are now:

  • Lost

  • Dr. Who

  • Kim Possible

  • Rome

  • My Name Is Earl

  • Mythbusters
The largest semi-weekly TV lineup I've held to in quite a span. I may start catching up on other stuff, too.

I still think that it is totally cool about horseshoe crabs having milky-blue blood because of the use of copper interating with hemocyanin. Another reason to find crabs and crustaceans so nifty. (Exoskeletons and claws are awesome enough, really.)

Had a nice talk with Eric, Mike and Mojo (Mary Jo, not the Finnish one from when I worked at FMM) last night. Met 'em all at Crabby Jacks, and eased myself into the conversation with a minimum of fuss or muss. Mike invited me by for the car show on Sunday, but I've got call that day. They're all quite entertaining conversationalists, but car shows are not really my thing. Maybe I'll check it out next week to be social and see what's what, anyhow. Eric is a hardscape engineer, and is working with the guy that designed all the waterfalls and rock bases for the Morikami Museum. He was delighted when I told him about my truant times visiting the grounds.

OoOo! If I send you some s&h, and money for a disc, would it be crazy for me to ask for a copy of Rome? Do you have all the episodes, or it a show that is still in progress? (I used to see the commercials for it on HBO)

If you don't have time, I will completely understand. :0)

Hmmm, I've been without cable a long time. I only recognize 3 of those shows listed. Thanks for the Bittorrent idea! My kids will love that. I shall request round data goodness from my sis.

Blue blood gets a science thumbs up. We were recently discussing blood in my family, this will be a homeschool add.

I swear your journal reads like a minimag, but much more interesting because of the surprise factor. TY! :)

I'm trying to be a bit more social... Deerfield is a lot easier to be friendly with folks, it seems, over Fort Lauderdale. I've sort of told myself that being a hermit most of the time is good, but I really should get to know my neighbors and neighborhood since I'm actually a homeowner and stuff, now.

I don't know if I have *all* the episodes, but I have a solid run of them, from episode 1-12. (It might be a while before I can send them to you, though, since the first 8 or so are on big brain, who is still waiting to come home.)

I'd be happy to send those off to you, though!

I think it's the lead guy, his bro and the writing... it'd be difficult to pull that sort of "one trick pony" someone else at the wheel.

Sure. :) I'll make a general announcement once big brain makes it home, and I'll collect addys, etc.

if you want to snag any in the meantime, go to isohunt.com and search for rome... you can nab single episodes at a time, if you have an urge for the ol' republic sooner!

I am less social now that I ever have in my life. I can't seem to meet anyone, who doesn't have issues that I don't want to deal with anymore. I could give more details which would further explain WHY, so it doesn't seem like I'm a judgemental nut...but I won't bore ya. :D

Wowee! I'm excited! :)) Thank you. SERIOUSLY, tell me what amount I can send you. I don't want you to have to truck it to the P.O., Burn stuff, plus use up your DVDs for free.

Speaking of Dr. Who - I just ran across this Who news feed in the Syndication links on LJ: http://syndicated.livejournal.com/whonews/

Not sure if it would interest you, but there ya go!

I could swear I remember my uncle watching Dr. Who when I was a kid. Has it been around for about 20 years, and used to come on PBS?

I'll let you know when I fire 'em off to you... maybe I'll have you donate something to a local kitty/pochie shelter for me or the like. :D

There are a *LOT* of people in the world that I'd rather not deal with, too... sometimes it seems like I'm a square peg in a round hole, and the edges never line up right... but I keep on truckin', just in case.

You know that nothing you say bores me! ;)

yup! the show is about 30 years old, and has been on pbs for ages. I used to watch it religiously every day at about 8pm.

The show's changed a number of times since then, of course. :D Thanks for the linkie!

yikes... well, I guess that's not too bad, if you just leave your computer on overnight! I'd estimate 48 hours for the 12 episodes on higher speed internet.

Heh the only shows I don’t watch there are "Kim Possible", and I’ve only seen a handful of "My Name is Earl", with mixed results sometimes I liked it other times I was meh. "Rome" I love of course though no new episodes until 97! Oh well better that they continue to get it right. I like "Mythbusters" too probably tops "Lost" in my book and this point, though I do still like "Lost". I’m afraid I don’t see the attraction to "Kim Possible"; I think I’d sooner watch "Pokemon". Speaking of cartoons it seems some parts of the world are getting new "Justice League Unlimited" cartoons while CN has put off airing them until sometime late summer or something.

Earl can be a little hit or miss, but when it gets it right, it really makes up for the blah ones.

Kim Possible flicks three or four of my switches to make it worth my while.... Mainly the Sidekicks and villians... Kim herself is not bad or anything, but Ron (complete with miniature sidekick of his own) reminds me a bit of Minimax:the high school years.

Christ, Pokemon? Did KP spill pretzel rods all over your floor and assume that D'art would clean 'em up, or something? :D

No new episodes until... '97? ;) It's going to be a loooong wait.

Mythbusters is a lot of fun... the water-bottle rocket / steel toe boot one was very nifty.

Yeah I meant 07, you don't have wait 91 years for Rome to be broadcast directly into your brain via Dreamvision.
Nor am I living in the past, at least I don’t think I am, damn this Swiss cheese memory of mine.

I will most likely boycott dreamvision, because by then, in the unlikely event that I'm still kickin', I'll be an ornery old coot who doesn't want any new-fangled mind-poop beamed directly into my cabesa.

(I'm just an ornery middle-aged coot, now, who doesn't want any new-fangled mind-poop beamed directly into my cabesa.)

we can only hope that it'll be a money-free society, otherwise, your fun-games will be interrupted by sneaker ads, and "New-New-Coke!"
