GeotargetChris Yerina, from Gloversville, NY, who some may know from Respectables, O'Sheas, Culture Room, Fetish Factory parties, Club Exit, etc, or maybe as the guitarist for the bands Monkeypaw, No End, 30 Odd Sicks and Kimsagro, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night.

They are holding a benefit in his honor tomorrow night at Respectables.

They are trying to gather up a few bands to play between 9pm and Midnight.

If you know of a band that'd like to join in honoring Chris, please have them call 754/235-5206.

There is no cover at the door, but donations will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to his family to help cover the unexpected costs of his funeral services.

Starmark had their Holiday party last night. I wonder who the entertainment was? Three years ago it was Jimmy Buffett.

Happy Birthday, Becky, wherever you are!

I've lost a lot of interest in Lost at the moment. Maybe when season 2 comes out on dvd, I'll peek at it again, but it just hasn't held my interest the last three episodes or so. I suspect it's suffering from "Twin Peaks" syndrome. What I once considered a 9 of 10, I'm now putting at about a 6. I never cared about Shannon's character, and really don't much care about the new group, especially the cliche of the "tiny twerp actress (that's not a great actress) who is supposed to be a tough badass". Boring. Alias, Buffy, Rain. Enough already. Rodreguez in Aliens... she's believable. The island scenery is more lovely in HD, though. I hope that it turns around soon.

Revised plans for today, no gaming - Danny prefers not to go, but I'm unsure why. I guess I'll find out once he gets here, about 11:30am. Maybe a dip in the pool? He's bringing a swimsuit and towel in case things are good for it. Maybe a trip to Crabby Jack's for lunch. I'm not sure that I can make it to respectables late night, or Dave's early night yet.

I kinda know what you mean about Lost.

Season 1 was really fresh and had the survival issues, some weirdness and left you really thinking. When Season 2 started I felt that the reveal of what was in the hatch was really dissapointing. If it turns out that the island is a giant experiment I will be really upset. I've devoted a lot of time to watching and rewatching the episodes, trying to work out whats going on to have it turn from must-see TV to just another typical American sci-fi show.

Yeah... I think that the character studies are still fairly solid, but the "tail" group doesn't do much for me. I was hoping they'd have a nice excuse to toss new blood into the mix, but it's not doing a lot for me yet.

Again I agree. We've spent too much time with the tail survivors and they aren't all that interesting. In fact I hate the Anna-Luchia character. She just seems mean and controlling for no real reason, and her flashback doesn't really explain it either. Ecko seems an interesting character though, sort of a counterpoint to Locke... both being men of faith of sorts (and I'm reminded of Locke's comments about Backgammon... "two sides, light and dark).

We need more information about whats going on. And I want the "monster" to make another appearance, because thats the most interesting quandry yet. The producers and writers have said that everything on the island and that has happened can be explained logically. Not sure how the "monster" fits in with that theory.

I haven't seen this week's episode yet (S2Ep9) as it hasn't appeared on Kazaa as yet. And I'm a little miffed that theres a 4 week break now as well. US TV scheduling is very bizarre compared to ours.

I think it was a rerun, but I might be mistaken.

the "monster" did seem quite a bit more mechanical the last go 'round.

Locke has a real gnostic thing going, and isn't *quite* like the philosopher John Locke there..

I like almost all of the original cast members, except for freckles and shannon... both seem to be too conniving and deceptive to appreciate, but maybe the show will give them a way to turn things around.

Americna tv is pretty weird, mostly due to advertising and "sweeps"

You don't like Kate? I think she's one of the more interesting characters. While she seems deceptive I don't think she really is, she's just scared of letting people in.

I don't like Kate because her lack of communicaitons skills has resulted in the death of most of the people she cares about. Her cover stories and behavior leads people to thier undoing... She *is* pretty, though.

True, but then it seems everyone on the island has some kind of communication skills, at least at one time or another.

Kate is pretty agreed.

Favourite character, for me, is either Locke or Sahyd.
