Weekend Recap
Jun. 20th, 2011 06:49 pmHad a lovely weekend with the family – Adam, Eric and Maddie came to visit. (Eric left Saturday am)
Breaking it down –
Friday-
Cookout @ windward key – Hot dogs (v-dogs for me), fresh corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw, blue moon beer. Met Maddie for the first time, she’s sweet – I think she would make a nice gal for Adam if they decide to get serious. Hung out at the in-laws.
Crazy Rain storm – knocked out power from 7pm to about 130am.
Went home about 10:30 – no power, so we just opened the windows (thankfully, the storm kept things cool) and hit the sack. I’m thankful my nerdy little laser pointer/flashlight/blacklight throws a nice big beam. 
Saturday -
Got up late, but BHK and I had a nice lazy, slow start to the day – watched a little tv, did some light chores until noonish when the gang called to go out – for a dinner of Chinese food @ Laughing Buddha- big family-style meal – we shared plates across the table – makes for good eats when 6 folks order!
Looks like Christine (co-owner of the restaurant) is going back to school for nursing. She’ll still work there on weekends though.
Sunday – Another leisurely morning – caught up with dr. who finale, and then we all went to dukin donuts and got some lottery scratchers for $6 of entertainment. Adam won $3, the rest of us lost it all.
Came back to the brown house where we played some games, ate chips, and watched lightning bugs float around outside.
Croquet – (I came in last, Adam #1)
Apples to Apples (BHK #1)
Steamed corn on the cob, pizza and Father’s day – Larry wins… he really liked his cards, too. IOne form me, one from BHK, and one from tigger.
