scottobear: (2 of cups (love and tenderness2))
I think I'd like to try my hand at beekeeping.

Nice thoughts of a song I haven't heard in ages -
Sleep my dear for the red bee hums the silent twilights fall
Aoibheal from the gray rock comes to wrap the world in thrall
A lyan van o my child my joy my love and heart's desire
The crickets sing you lullabys beside the dying fire
Dusk is drawn and the green man's horn
Is wreathed in rings of fog
Sheevra sails his boat till morn
Upon the starry bog
A lyan van o the paley moon
Has ringed her cusp in dew
And weeps to hear the sad sweet song
I sing my love to you
Sleep my dear for the red bee hums the silent twilights fall
Aoibheal from the gray rock comes to wrap the world in thrall
A lyan van o my child my joy my love and heart's desire
The crickets sing you lullabys beside the dying fire

Aww, what a nice compliment from my littlerbigsis [livejournal.com profile] ldy... I wonder if it'll become a meme? Dangerous, considering the naughty-word factor.

Behold! My journal has been taken over by a pre-teenl!

Ok, I got it back again.

Going out to lunch with Dan and his SF club for sushi in the afternoon. I'll get a glimpse at his students and put faces to some of the names he's mentioned. After, (if there's time / he's not tutoring) we might go check out The Day After Tomorrow... or Troy, if DAfT isn't timed to start at a good time.

I've had a little cough recently... I hope that I'm not coming down with the flu-bug that my brother had last week.

New Stuff in CoH! (thanks, Whims!)

Ok, off to get ready for my day. I'll catch you later, dear journal.

Wow... DAfT was pretty weak. nice effects, but bad acting and writing. A pity.. there was some real potential there. I'd say to rent the Poseidon Adventure rather than going to see it. (Pretty nice page, too.) It's pretty sad when Dennis Quaid can't save a movie. He just walked through.

Dan & I were reduced to passing notes back and forth on my palmtop, and giggling like we were in high school. We wrote in red on a black background so we didn't suffer from any pupil-shift.

Dan's Starting commentary -

I feel no emotion for this movie. The writing is poor, etc. Now, I am only interested in the special effects.

Other comments were - Warning, spoilers. )

Got to see the core of Danny's SF club... not a bad crew, overall. Some discernible stereotypes, but nice folks, I think. Interesting that they all have LJs... or at least Deadjournals.

Finally got a decent shot of Danny out of "goon pose" mode. cut to spare skinny readers )Site Meter

Sushi was ok, maybe an even 5 out of 10.

After the movie, we hit D&B's for some pod racer, but didn't stay long (Dan won 3 of three games)... very loud. We both had the seeds of headaches, and by then, it'd been 5 hours since we'd eaten, so to A-Blimpies we went. We both were feeling much better after the meal... I wonder if there was something wrong with the sushi, or if the flu was hitting us both, despite the sammich made by a prizefighter.

Post-Blimpies, we hit the drugstore, and got some meds for headache and cough. Some 'tussin, and a Snickers.

I may not go out to see the Odd Couple tonight... sort of feeling a bit bleh. Still tuning in to tonight's Justice League
