GeotargetWoo... the King Kong marketing machine is in full swing... it's going to be a Giant Gorilla Christmas!

I rather dig the Beijing Olympic Mascots.

Currently a bit pissed at work. only Carl Douglas and Giant Apes can cheer me up.

Moment of Lyric: mp3

Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing

They were funky China men from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down
It's an ancient Chineese art and everybody knew their part
From a feint into a slip, and kicking from the hip

Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing

There was funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chung
He said here comes the big boss, lets get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swinging with the hand
The sudden motion made me skip now we're into a brand knew trip

Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they did it with expert timing

(repeat)..make sure you have expert timing
Kung-fu fighting, had to be fast as lightning

That song always reminds me of my college roommate. She swore up and down that Johnnie Cochran (OJ's lawyer) sang it---she was---how do I put this---ah musically challenged. I finally gave up trying to convince her otherwise and now when I hear that song I get a mental image of a court room with a bevy of Johnnie's wearing one glove and laying the smack down.

I wasn't that interested in Kong, until I saw the preview at a theater a few months ago, and it looks great!

They have the Russian Misha Olympic mascot on that page! Here he is:
http://en.beijing2008.com/05/74/article211987405.shtml

I have one. I won't give him up for anything. I accidently through him into a pile of yard sale items this last weekend, and plucked him out in the nick of time.

I started reading the lyrics to that song, and my shoulders started bopping around...without my even hearing the mp3. :P

I was thinking last night that Misha played a part in my love of Russian things (despite the fact that he was made by an American company!). He was my first taste. I was just 10 or 11..and fascinated by his name. After that, the full on Russian interest came on in high school.

He's got the niftiest claws ever. :0)

Yeah, I know it's odd that I'm almost 40 and love stuffies...still.
