Went with Danny to Waxy's Pub, and the top of Pier 66's Hyatt. Hyatt is far to expensive for what you get, but the view is fantastic.

I was a little disappointed in the panorama shot, because the light outside bled out any detail of the scenery. I'm sure if I had a less-cruddy cam, it'd have been pretty awesome... I'll go back there when I treat myself to some better hardware.

To celebrate the first Moon landing today (July 20th, 1969) Google have added some NASA moon imagery to the Google Maps interface and created Google Moon. Make sure you zoom right in for a hint at what the moon is really made of .

I'm about due my next link-paycheck. I'm wondering if I should do an even $5 per for four different charities, or if $20 a month is better for a single charity. Currently, it is be divided across Asha for Education, an extremely efficient spending org (98% to programs); usually focuses on education and long-term socioeconomic change, but continuing to respond to the tsunami disaster and AmeriCares, another efficient (99% to programs) nonprofit specialized in international disasters.

ICE Announces Two-Year Results Of Operation Predator

Special Operation Leads To 250 Arrests In Florida

MIAMI -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced the two-year results of Operation Predator, a major initiative to protect children from pedophiles, pornographers and human traffickers.

In the past two years, Operation Predator has netted over 250 arrests in Florida alone.The most recent ICE arrest took place Monday, when three Miami-Dade County men were convicted of committing lewd acts against children in the last few years.Two of the men are from Nicaragua; the other is a Cuban national. They are lawful permanent residents, but under new immigration laws, the three could be deported because of the crimes of which they were convicted.Operation Predator cracks down on people convicted of different types of sex crimes against children."We go after people who not only are convicted of state crimes against children, but also people who engage in the trading of child pornography through the Internet, people who travel interstate or within a state to encourage or entice children into sex," ICE special agent John Woods said.The three men arrested Monday are currently at the Krome Detention Center. An immigration judge will decide whether they will be deported.
