7325 - The work week begins anew.

I saw the short commercial, but didn't get to see the bit of testimonial footage I did for the longer bit.
The most recent Dr. Who 2-parter was an odd combination of actual drama, slapstick/fart jokes, Men in Black, and an issue of 2000AD. I'm glad that there were repercussions of Rose just launching off like she did. Rather a neat spin on UNIT, too.
I can't help but wonder if I'd like it as much if I'd never seen the old Dr. Who series as a kid. Probably... they're pretty entertaining fare.
Next Week... Daleks!
I need to burn episodes 2-5 to a cd, and toss 'em to Graypumpkin.
Freaky Club guy - shaved his face, but not anywhere below the jawline. His behavior was in an odd place, too. He put Mari and Mzk sort of at odds for a bit. I think Mari was suffering from some cramps, to.. I noticed that she was clutching her lower abdomen every so often.
Weather yesterday was magnificent. perfect humidity level, temperature, and amount of sunshine. I would like 100 days like that a year, please.
I have to remember to call up the HR and find out if that thing two weeks ago was fruitful or not. I suspect not, because they didn't call me.
Newt was amazingly affectionate last night and this morning, doing that trill-purr he does when he's in happy-happy mode. Sleep was wonderful for the first time in a few weeks.
Got to talk to Tomi voice, albeit briefly. He sounds good, and is still in seeming good spirits. I think it's been at least 15 years, if not more since we last communicated. A lot of time there... nearly half a lifetime.
pope icon of the moment -
Dave Attell was at the Poorhouse Saturday night (as a civilian, not a performer)... looking forward to Wednesday with Mzk and the gang.
Most Condoms in India Used to Make Saris
NEW DELHI (AP) -- Only a quarter of condoms made in India are used for sex, most of the others are used to make saris, toys and bathroom slippers, a newspaper reported Saturday.
The condoms are valuable to manufacturers because of the lubricant on them. Sari weavers place the condoms on their thread spools and the lubricant on the prophylactics is rubbed off on the thread, making it move faster through their sewing machines, The Economic Times newspaper quoted an Indian industry official as saying.
Sari makers also turn the condom's inside out, place them on their fingers and use the high-quality lubricant to polish gold and silver threads used in the traditional Indian women's outfits.
India manufactures more than 1 billion condoms annually to check population growth and curb the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Date: 2005-04-25 12:42 pm (UTC)As for Dr. Who, I am really enjoying it but it is very very different to the older series. But saying that, its being directed at a different generation, one who don't have the patience to sit down and watch a serial show or understand the entirety of the background.

Date: 2005-04-25 01:01 pm (UTC)My attention span prefers single shots or 2-parters, too. If I'd known the episode was a "to be continued" sort beforehand, I'd have held off, and watched thme both at once.

Did you see the article that said the Pope is going after Harry Potter books? Considering the source, I dunno...and I haven't looked further to check accuracy.
I want to see the commercial...boo.

Date: 2005-04-25 03:40 pm (UTC)I had heard nothing about the pope wanting to go after young harry! t would'nt surprise me if it was true, nor would it if it turns out to be a big ol' fib.
If I find a copy of the commercial, I'll be sure to digitize it. :)

Date: 2005-04-25 03:52 pm (UTC)The source was ohnothey... so, who knows if it's true. Lots of silly over there at times.
Yay for digitizing!
