Yesterday I finally found solid ground, the weekend is looking clear, and bro hasn't been in any trouble (that I know of). The chicken coop at work is getting less clucky, now that the big kahuna is at her destination, and the stressful prep has come to an end for the moment.
Downside, Mel's Gramma is in the hospital, and had a minor heart attack. She's under observation right now.. I hope she mends quickly.
Mel & I are definitely a go-go for some sort of day trip this Sunday... not sure where.. maybe Parrot Jungle? Don't tell Mel, but I really am more interested in seeing the monkeys (especially Jake) than the pretty birds.

Once upon a time
Once beneath the stars
The universe was ours
Love was all we knew
And all I knew was you
I made a point of putting in a request to get my birthday off this year.. it falls on a Wednesday, but I didn't take any other personal days yet. I think that I'm going to take a bit of time off in mid-may.
A couple of people at work read my LJ... EN and JH, at least. It was odd, JH called me Scotto today, and it was a bit of a surprise. A pleasant one, certainly. I'm digging the new blood so far.. I think the younger crowd will soften some of the sharper edges the elders have. Plus, it takes a lot of the workload off of me. Now what we need is a receptionist, so that I'm no longer distracted by diving for the phones.

Date: 2005-01-12 12:57 pm (UTC)I'm sorry to hear about Mel's grandma. :| I find it fascinating that she's doing the looking after...it's a nice thing.
We expect photos from Sunday...and some bird in the hand/on the head photos! Seriously. :0) Not that I am good about sharing pictures of me. :P
I wanted to go to Jungle Gardens when I was home..but no time. Next time!
P.S. - I think I remember you mentioning you use Itunes? If yes, can two people use two separate credit cards to buy songs, using the same program, on the same computer? You usually hear all sorts of info... I've looked at their website already. :P

Date: 2005-01-12 02:24 pm (UTC)Quite a few mornings, actually... probably because my roomie in college had one of the Moody Blues discs in the stereo as her alarm, and would get us both up to those wonderful songs in the morning.
But still. Odd that it would be mentioned today, when I was thinking it already.

Date: 2005-01-12 02:34 pm (UTC)I'm glad Mel was looking after her Gram... if she was at home alone, with just the visiting nurse, who knows where Gram would be now?
We'll take as many pictures as possible, methinks, but I'm not crazy about having birdies on my head... I fear poop in my hair! Hands are more easily washed. :)
I don't really use Itunes... when I get freebie songs sent to me, I give out the access codes for 'em, but that's about it. The multiple user/payment is a good question, but I don' tknow the answer. :(

Date: 2005-01-12 02:50 pm (UTC)All that stuff happened six months before I started this journal. LJ grew a lot in those six months, though. I guess the plan worked, for a while.
