Criminy. Holiday stresses are getting to the hen house. Do I care? No, I do not.

Peaceful thoughts for those in difficult times right now.

Morning Newt-stretch, from behind his pink ears.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to help Mel unpack her house, and we'll see where the weekend takes us. I'm looking forward to spending time with her again... funny how two days can stretch on.

Lost is getting more serialized/cliffhanger style lately. I'm definitely digging it.

I've never had to light a fire to survive in winter.

I've been hit so hard that I've seen flashes of light.

I want to swim in a fresh water lake by a smooth pebble beach.

I've only had alcohol from a jug once, and I was disappointed that it wasn't marked "XXX"

I've plucked and dressed at least two dozen chickens, and hated doing it every time.

I don't currently own a gun, for fear that I might use it in anger, or otherwise carelessly.

I've been to a sweat lodge, and it wasn't my thing.

I'm amused by the idea of starting off as an egg, and I wonder about the origin of the protein that split it, before it was a sperm. What did my father eat, before he processed it into a seed? I flatter myself, by hoping it was a fly he swallowed while on his motorcycle, or maybe a bit of chocolate honey-dipped doughnut. I wonder how many pieces of me that have fallen, flaked or broken off in my life have gone on to become flies or doughnuts again?

I take fresh water for granted. I take a lot of modern things for granted.

I haven't planted a tree in a long time. I'm overdue.

I have no real need for prezzies this Christmas. I've been asked by a few people, and I still have no idea what to tell them. Just good tidings, and peaceful spirits.

I wonder what mark I'll leave behind, if any. Who's going to remember me a hundred years after I'm dead? Ten? One year? I suppose it doesn't really matter since I won't actually know. I'd like to think that the chain of events from some action of mine could make someone else's life better, 200 years from now.

Best line from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - "You'll find a slight squeeze on the hooter an excellent safety precaution, Miss Scrumptious."

1 year ago - movie clapper poll, hakarl, RI a bitch, Rudolph: Behind the scenes.

2 years ago - Rubber monsters, the four humors, feculence, Jane Goodall believes in bigfoot, prezzies

3 years ago - autochthonous, Nobel prize, Cetus, BEAR WINS; SUIT LOSES

4 years ago - nifty links, Fidel Castro's John Lennon statue, and life's perfectly swell, KMFDM

"Do I care? No, I do not"

Haha...! Yay. :0)

I sense some good stuff coming with Mel...

What night & channel does Lost come on?? I still haven't seen it anytime I've flipped channels..but here about it often!

Bah..the chickens..NO way I'm doin' that. Got chills just now thinking about it. :P

Why were you hit??

I don't own a gun, because I'm afraid I'll shoot myself with it in my purse. I can't get the concept of doing that, but know several females who carry one that way. ...though, I had to sleep with my M-16 in the military..and was jest fine.

It's good I didn't start off as an egg...I would have been a clutz in there..even then.

-What were you going to say after I suppose in the mark you'l leave behind tidbit? :0)

I attempted to tell people that really I didn't need presents and that a donation to the American Diabetes Association would do me the most good---since what I wanted most was a cure!

It didn't work--I'm still getting stuff. Next year I'm going to do a tour of my living space and SHOW my friends that really---I've got too much stuff!!

you and me both! I'm smooshed at my current place. If I add one thing, two things must go.

The ADA donation idea is an excellent one!

Well I'm so sentimental---I suppose I should learn to keep my memories in my head but when I love the person (and I love lots of people) its hard to get rid of things that remind me of them or things they have given me.

Lost comes on ABC at 8pm Eastern... I usually wait a day and download it, so there's no commercials. I'd be happy to send you the series so far on a CD or three. (There have been 11 1-hour episodes).

I get a good vibe from Mel, too. I'm pretty wary right now, but I'm enthusiastic.

plucking chickens is nasty, thankless work. not worth the meat, even when I was all for munching on birds.

I've been in a fight or two in my life, and when I've been socked in the head, I see flashes of light. I've also walked into a door in the dark and got a knock of brightness, and actually saw little sparks.

You didn't start off as an egg? what are you, a spore? :D

That's the nice thing about M-16s...not as snuggly as a puppy or kitty, but better to defend yourself at range. If I did anything, I'd wear a pistol in a shoulder holster.

hee... I wrote that when I was half asleep... I'll have to wrest the remainder from memory later regarding marks. it shows you're paying attention!

Hard shelled egg!!! WOOPS. ;) Hard shell - Is what I was thinking about...Julia-egg was no big deal..hard shell egg-Julia probably wouldn't be here today.

People always make jokes about Texas and guns...that "every one has one in a holster when you go there..blah..BLAH". Yeeah..if you were in the middle of nowhere TX, population 1000. You see lots of rifles in trucks...but I have no idea what it is they claim to see other than that.

"it shows you're paying attention"

Haha..well between my thinking of hard shell eggs and you dropping off during entries, we're all right!

oooooh! Hee.. I could see you as a gaily-painted easter egg. :)

My buddy GP in Austin doesn't have a gun, nor does his wife, to the best of my knowledge.. but from what I hear from both you and him, Austin seems to be a bastion of thought compared to some of the more dangerously rural areas.

hmmm.. I want a cadbury egg, now!

Can Newt swim? he has webbed paws...I love the way he looks to be feeling the warmth of the sun, or shielding his face...

I've never seen Newt "swim" per se. He once fell in the bathtub, and leapt whole-body out, hovering in midair for a moment, before tearing up all over the house, moistening everything in his wake.

until I caught up with him, and gave him a nice fluffy towelling.

an easter egg with a cracked shell with a bandaid on it! :)))

Yours would have primary comic book colors on it. :))

Oh..we've got our freaks here. Working next to the capital I saw some bizarre stuff often - unfortunately. I think I would be unhappy living in any other cities in Texas. Dallas and Houston are not like Austin at all...though you would expect a bigger melting pot in those two large cities.

Are Cadbury eggs the ones that have the real looking egg yolk inside? They're YUMMY...but I have to close my eyes when I see the insides. :D

Just a little crack drawn on, maybe! and a little robo-leg base holder!

I suspect my egg would have some good solid red yellow blue on it too. :) Newtie's egg would have tiger-stripes and a little pink nose!

I imagine austin has more left-leaning loonies than righty-nuts. (just because it's a school town, maybe?)

Yup, Cadbury eggs have real-ish looking yolk, unless you get a caramel one, then it's just rich, thick, yumyums. I only ever see 'em at easter, but I hear they're available year round in Cadbury's home grounds of the UK.
