Heh, somebody linked to my dream cartoon, drawn ages ago. It's nice that I still have dreams like that.

dreams

One of the comments is wacky... "Wha? is that Jesus?"

The Forgotten could be cool, could be poo.

In The Forgotten, Telly Paretta (Julianne Moore) is tormented by the memory of her eight-year-old son Sam's death in a plane crash 14 months ago. While trying to work through her grief, and her subsequent estrangement from her husband Jim (Anthony Edwards), she is informed by her psychiatrist, Dr. Munce (Gary Sinise), that she is suffering from delusions, that her son never existed and she is fabricating his memories. Stunned, she tries to find evidence of Sam's existence - photos, videos, scrapbooks. But it has all disappeared.Telly is convinced she is going mad until she meets Ash Correll (Dominic West), the father of one of the other plane crash victims. Together, they embark on a search to prove the existence of their children and reclaim their sanity.
I doubt that I'll see it in theaters, but I might check it out on release to dvd.

I like Julainne Moore, and Anthony Edwards.

I know you don't know me, so please don't throw this away, it isn't junk... well maybe it is to you, but it's not junk in your traditional sense... but anyway I have this song on my computer called "frontier psychiatrist" and its by a apparently not very popular band called "the avalanches". The song is filled with a bunch of quotes from an old movie I'm guessing, and i really want to know what movie its from. I've
been looking for a while now and recently i searched on google for "... psychosomatic. that boy needs therapy..." and i got two of your sites, you actual site, and your live journal, both of which involved that quote, so i was wondering if you knew about the song or where it came from. I would be most gracious if you would e-mail me back and tell me anything you know

In that format.

Well, I replied to him that it was a movie by John Waters - "Polyester"

He was very thankful, and appreciative, but it surprised me that a google search didn't bring it up for him.

Mountain Dew : Pitch black? I've heard it tastes great, but naming something for pitch is no way to make me buy it.

Pitch -
  1. a black or dark viscous substance obtained as a residue in the distillation of organic materials and especially tars

  2. any of various bituminous substances

  3. resin obtained from various conifers and often used medicinally

  4. any of various artificial mixtures resembling resinous or bituminous pitches
None too tasty sounding to me! (it's a grapey-grape grape soda, too, which isn't my fave...but I'd try it.)

It will, however go nicely at a Halloween party, if you also serve Orange Crush, and those little cupcakes dressed up to look like jack-o-lanterns.

I remember first grade really well. Teacher was Mr. Adams, tall, skinny guy who wore red sweaters that made me think of Gilligan, was an Aquarius. Pointed out that you could tell if it was raining by looking for concentric rings in puddles.

Second & Third Grade - I don't remember much, except that one of my teachers was named Mrs. Scott, and that I hated writing in cursive. Reading and Math were exceptionally easy (throughout school, really, except when it came to having to memories trig stuff... it bored me to tears.)

DCF Departure Demands Governor's Undivided Attention

Mr. Regier's failure to recognize that he needed to demonstrate a bit more contrition to restore his credibility is precisely the reason the agency hasn't recovered.

A male teacher in first grade! I didn't have a male teacher until I was in sixth grade. In fact, the (K-5) elementary schools in our local district each had only one male teacher, who always taught fifth grade. Even the principals of all the schools were female, as were all the cafeteria workers. But all the janitors and all the bus drivers were male. Ah, the 1950's!

After first grade, my next male teacher was in 5th grade, too. I suspect it was due to the shortage of men in the industry.

All of my school-chiefs / food service were women, too, until high school. (to the best of my recollection.)

My bus drivers were primarily women, too, though the janitors were men. Life in the 70's and 80's!

Hah! "Is that Jesus?" That made me crack up.

And, personally, I think Mountain Dew already has a taste similar to the smell of pitch, so my guess is they're just doing truth in advertising.

Mmmm....!! Mountain Tar!

I'm all for it so long as I can soak bales of wheat, hay, and other grasses in it, encase them in iron braces, put them to the torch, and roll them down the streets of my neighborhoood......

Conquest starts at home, no?

Heh. I had the same thoughts when I saw the first episode.

could be, but the new moutain dew is supposedly grapitty-grape, not pseudo-citrus antifreeze.

Hrm. Well, if it still gives me the jitters like regular Mt. Dew does, I'm steering clear.

ha. right.. I have no problem with the concept, as long as S.O. isn't sweaty or has a wild funk.
I just don't like the taste of that phrase, if you get what I mean. I dunno, I'm weird like that.
