Saw Spider Man 2: Electric Boogaloo last night with Dave; the 9 pm showing at Riverfront.

By Jaga!

The guy in line in front of me sounded just like Panthro. I half-expected him to ask me to take my foot off of the blasted samoflange.

Others seen were a large number of the mentally challenged... Lots of women with breast augmentation, too. Par for the course in Ft. Lauderdale. If I tried harder, I could probably make some sort of snarky comments using the term boobs to refer to both groups, but the brain is disengaged right now. Make up your own, dear journal.

Some young republicans promoting W and his team... well-to-do kids that don't seem old enough to vote. I worked with Bush Sr.'s campaign in the 80s, so there's hope that they'll grow out of it too. How's that for a dirty little secret?

So, the lightweight review: I liked the movie better than the first one... more my kind of villain, and they covered a *lot* of ground in two hours, without it getting sleepy or having "filler". They got brutal with Doc's arms, and I think it was very well done. They even got Doc's brain boo-boo mentioned. Decent story, characters and action scenes. Very loyal to the source stuff, though the "force of will" dilemma isn't my fave. I don't want to see too much of Harry Osbourne in the next one, unless he's teaming with someone else. I'm ready for Mysterio now, or more likely, the Lizard. plenty of potential baddies... but I have no need to see Venom or his ilk. In fact, I'd rather see any of the Sinister Six (the classic group of - Electro, Ock, Kraven, Sandman, Vulture, and Mysterio) than that guy. I still think that Morgan Freeman needs to reprise his role as Easy Reader in the next movie.

I hear that they're going to rip those theaters down soon, because they're not making any money... the supposed "new" arcade has long since been removed, but is still mentioned on the site. Right now they have a skee-ball machine, about a dozen out of date arcade games, and an air-hockey table. I can't say as I recall the last time they showed foreign or indy films, either, for that matter. The best Sunrise theater for that is the Gateway. A far older venue... no stadium seats or anything, but a fun, musty vibe. That's the last place I had shrooms, ages ago, and where I met April. Two experiences that started off well, and turned ugly after I thought things had just been great. Note - Shooms; 1998. April; 2000.

Playing with the WYSIWYG Table-thingum in Semagic.
