Eh, forget that Fulgentius stuff! I'd be pissed if someone called me an anathema. It sounds so horrid! Even/Especially if you do know what it means!
But I like what Izzy said -- that stuff about choice. You're raised to go by and live according to some prearranged agreements that you had no choice but to follow. Then you hear about some better agreement that you like better, so you follow that one, face-first. And there are lotsa other people out there who are just as unique as you are in whatever beliefs you manage to cultivate from what you grew up believing and what you've decided you need to start believing. I don't think you really get to choose what you believe because if it weren't for outstanding circumstances that were totally out of your control, you would't harbor the beliefs you have. You're pretty much forced to believe whatever it is you believe. But who cares? As long as you believe in the right things ... and the "right things" in general is always up for question. And you don't even get to choose "what's right" and "what's wrong", either, because that, too, is so heavily up to prior influence.
So even if you were to see an angel, it would clear nothing up -- you'd still be stuck. And it's sucks to be stuck.
Wow. Once again, I've talked myself into a nonsensical tizzy.
