Not a payday, but the lead-in to the weekend.

found a few job options I didn't have a week ago, including reference librarian. :) A great gig, form what I remember... only downside was the "playing the game" aspect of internal politics. I can get around that, if need be, but that'll be the biggest downside. Upside of that job is that it'll have built-in buddies form another state! How neat.

Options stand as - Denver, Flagstaff, Yorktown, and Seattle, for out of state moves. In state has a tighter ring as Tampa, Orlando, or Ft. Lauderdale appear as more local possibilities. I certainly would prefer to work in an industry that I think is a positive impact, or at least doesn't bother folks, like a library. Some of my other potential jobs aren't as kind, but will be taken as a matter of money, possibly. Shooting for more internal joy, though. I don't want to work in advertising or any of the 'vice' fields anymore... just sort of slimy at the core. I've done websites for adult industry stuff and worked at an advertising company... both just left me feeling clammy.

A pity that there's no financial reward in working for charities... plenty of personal rewards, but hard to pay rent, and live on 17k a year doing programming for PETA, Women in Distress, or St. Vincent's. something middle of the road, like a R&D firm for technology, or a like field.

on a lighter note - JennyLee pointed this out, and i just have to pass it on.

Mmm... go for internal joy :)

I work in marketing, mostly as an advertising copy-writer in a niche industry. I'm joyful (and seemingly very blessed) that I get to promote products I could honestly recommend to others. I could make a whole lot more $$ by going to an ad agency, but I don't think I could do it with a clear conscience or a happy heart.

You'll find your niche, I just know it :)

Thanks for the #-- I SOOOOO needed that!! YOU QUACK ME UP!!!

Quacky, quacky, quack, quack!

Ok, someone has way too much time on their hands....although, wouldn't it be nice if credit card companies had those kind of options, too?

"if you like to hear a duck quack press 7"
hehe. thats priceless :)

if you moved across the state, my poor lil newtie would be so scared. i don't know how i would move my kitties. they get terrified being in that cat carrier for a 20 minute trip to the doctors, i couldn't imagine them making it through a plane ride.

I called the number and nothing exploded (at least on my end) so I take that as a good sign. It really is rather amusing. :)

my kitties will never win any awards for being brave thats for sure... but awwww they're so cute and thats all that matters.

ohhh hehe. here's a funny louis story really quick. when i lived with brian we lived in this apartment above some stores. you had to walk up a flight of stairs and then there was the door to our apartment. welp anyways, louis broke through the screen door one night. so i come home from work, climb the stairs, and there he is sitting on the "porch" completely frozen. he was so scared to be outside he couldn't move. hehe. sillybean! good thing he stayed up there, cuz it was all busy streets around there and he probably would of gotten hit by a car :(
