Well, off to bed to read more of A Canticle for Leibowitz ... something I've been meaning to read for about 15 years now. Not too shabby...*very* Catholic. Interesting perspectives on post-apocalypse rebuilding too. I’m going to take this one slow.

Title: Mesopotamia
Album: Mesopotamia

Turn your watch
Turn your watch back
About a hundred thousand years
A hundred thousand years
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
Ah come on, that's right, I want
we'll meet in Mesopotamia

We're going down to meet it
I ain't no student
Feel those vibrations
Of ancient culture
I know a neat excavation
Before I talk I should read a book
But there's one thing That I do know
There's a lot of ruins In Mesopotamia

Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law
They laid down the law
aa aa aa aa aa aaa
Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law
aa aa aa aa aa aaa

I'll meet you by the third pyramid
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
Ah come on, that's right, I want
to meet in Mesopotamia

We're going down to meet it
Now I ain't no student
Hear those vibrations
Of ancient culture
I know a neat excavation
Before I talk I should read a book
Mesopotamia that's where I wanna go
But there's one thing that I do know
Mesopotamia that's where I wanna go
There's a lot of ruins in Mesopotamia

Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law

Wait-- S'not for me in Mesopotamia; we'll meet in Mesopotamia!

By the third pyramid. Be there, or be, um, pyramidal.

You want Post-Apocalyptical AND Mesopotamia?
Read Orson Scott Card's "Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0812508645/qid=1026272709/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/104-6347342-3910337)

I just finished it and it was great!

OSC does a great job with characters.... how was the plot?

I hear there's an ender's game movie in the works!

You know, I still haven't really figured out what "Plot" is!

But, things went along pretty darn believably and there were some GREAT twists and surprises.
Again, he's done an incredible job of making believable characters that I/we should be able to relate to.

I also have always loved the way that he stays FAR away from "judgement". He shows you both sides of a thing and just basically says "that's the way it is," and you know that it's just okay that way - if it were all good or all bad then it would be wrong either way. Hmm, not sure what I meant to mean. He just makes everything so very human.

I think you're VERY right about the Ender's Game movie. I'd LOVE to see it come out!
