Wowee...I didn't notice the human skeleton, until clicking and seeing the larger photo. That's awesome.
15 years ago, they had a store setup at the mall with dino bone *replicas*. Traveling display. I wish I could see *real* bones, and NOW, that I'm a more coherant adult. :)
I'd forgotten all about it till this post of yours!
At our botanical garden, they have actual dino footprints. They found them when digging. 15 years ago, you could get close to them. Now, they have them hidden away and only have concrete replicas for people to look at. :P
Me, too. Have you seen any of the "Walking with dinosaur" specials? If not, you should! Netflix has them. I saw one playing at a Discovery store in Vegas..and stood entranced in front of their tv for 10 minutes. Grabbed the first video up right away. It's good stuff.
neato! I guess they had to secure the originals, in case wear and tear could hurt 'em... I saw one of the alking specials, and it was a hoot! I didn't know there was more than one. :)
There was a "Raising the wooly mammoth" special that was excellent..but Netflix doesn't have it. People were talking of the time, of seeing if they could recreate a mammoth from the DNA. I'm kinda glad they didn't...I fear people wouldn't treat it right. :(
They advertised the mammoth special for 30 days before airing it. I was so excited. :D
You would, too! I'd help, for sure.
Just recently, there was talk of bringing some sort of big animals to America - for free roaming. EXCITEMENT! but, we have people that I bet would try to hurt them somehow. :P
I can't imagine buffaloes roaming the open plains like they did at thier peak in the west... that must've been a n amazing thing, seeing a sea of giant beasties all out there together.

I totally want to walk around on all fours now, like all day. And when somebody looks at me strangly I'll look up and say, "You got a PROBLEM!"

Dinosaurs are both scary and wonderful... giant monsters.. I'm sometimes sad that I'll never see one alive.

I'd treat it right... feed it lots of long grass and buttercups. :)

Here's the first article I read on it: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/08/0817_050817_animal_park.html
Here's the one where they backed off:
